User :
I live with a condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I have been referred to a Dermatologist on two occasions, however on both occasions he has recomended antibiotics. The shell casing of these antibiotics are made of animal gelatine.

Is there any other antibiotic for this condition? Or can I be referred to somebody else?
I will be very grateful for your support and advice as this condition is causing a lot of pain.

Thank you

Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   May I know which antibiotic has been prescribed to you?
User :   hello
User :   the antibiotic prescribed is Microgynon
User :   really sorry that is the wrong one
Doctor :   Microgynon is not an antibiotic.
Doctor :   That is a birth pill.
User :   please let me find the prescription
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   There are various factors responsible for your present conditon.
Doctor :   It could be infection, hormonal, excessive sweating, autoimmune factors or stress related factors.
Doctor :   The treatment options would be based on the cause.
User :   sorry i know all this i have searched it on the internet. I dont sweat excessively, however i am highly stressed
Doctor :   Accordingly the treatment can include the use of antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs, topical applicants, steroids.
Doctor :   The antibiotic is essential to prevent infections.
Doctor :   So you would need them.
User :   are there any antibiotics that don't have animal gelatine shells?
Doctor :   A few of the medications may be available in a tablet form.
User :   Could you please tell me which ones?
Doctor :   You can probably use them instead of the capsules which can contain these gelatine.
Doctor :   Since I have not examined you, I cannot prescribed the antibiotics online.
User :   i am using a cream called TERRASIL which has silver and oxygen the cream is black in colour is that ok to use?
User :   instead of prescribing could you tell me which antibiotics i could research on the net?
Doctor :   You can use the terrasil cream.
Doctor :   It would help you in relieving the pain.
Doctor :   However, they would not be effective in controlling the infection.
Doctor :   The choice of antibiotics would be only after a physical examination.
Doctor :   I would suggest you to see your dermatologist and get an alternative medication which is in a tablet form.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   sorry it doesnt let me type for a long time??/
User :   i will see my dermatologist for different antibiotics, however he was insistent that you can not get these anitbiotics in tablet form?
User :   will terrasil cause any harm?
Doctor :   Who prescribe you terrasil?
User :   nobody its a cream i found on the net
Doctor :   You would need antibiotics along with the creams.
User :   does this chat cut out or does it continue until i click off?
Doctor :   Terrasil alone will not be effective, and if there is an infective focci, you would be aggravating the problem.
Doctor :   It will continue till your session is over.
User :   have just had a furnucle (four heads) on my left side this has come to a head by itself, i have squeezed the pus and blood out due to immense pain, should i do this or not?
Doctor :   There are chances of infection getting spread if you are going to do this.
Doctor :   This is not recommended by any doctor.
