Doctor :   hi
User :   I brought me 8 month old son to the doctor on Thursday because he had a cough, runny nose, fever and had developed white spots all over his lips, inside of his mouth and tongue. I freaked of course and when I met with the doctor he told me that he had herpangina. He said it would clear up on its own in about 3-5 days and to just manage the fever. Well - that's what I have been doing for the past couple of days. However, I noticed that he has absolutely no appetite right now. He only wants to drink. I gave him water and he sucked it down like he'd been hanging out in the desert - so atleast he's drinking. Anyhow, all of sudden today I noticed that he is developing this rash all over his neck, face, back and chest and of course again I'm freaking out. The doctor mentioned nothing about a rash (other than some spots that might appear on the palms of his hands and soles of his feet). I did some research and his rash looks like measles. I know it sounds crazy, but, the beginning stages of measles are almost identical to herpangina and since he is under a year old - he has not had his final MMR shot. Does anyone know anything about this? Am I just overreacting or could this actually be meales? PLEASE HELP! Currently his temperature is normal and has been for the last 2 days.
User :   The spots in his mouth are still there btw
Doctor :   give me a minute
User :   ok
Doctor :   do not panic in the first place
