User :   Hello. I am 20 years old and I don't suffer from any heart problems that I know of. Since mid last year I've noticed that when I walk a short distance (from the lounge room to my bedroom) I get a very heavy heartbeat.
I mentioned this to my Mum last night and she said her heart is like that but not as bad, and she is a smoker. I however don't smoke. I am quite fit and walk 45 minute walks once/twice a day, I haven't taken notice of the heavy heartbeat during or after my walk, it tends to be shorter distances. Is this a concern, is this normal?
Thank you
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here. let me read what you have typed.
Doctor :   for small distances, it should not matter, but if this does not happen with long distance walks, then this should be evaluated further
Doctor :   what other symptoms are you having?
Doctor :   do you have passive smoking?
User :   no other symptoms

User :   could it be related?
User :   is this normal for short distances?
