Heavy hair fall. Need a solution. - Online Doctor Chats
Hello Doctor, My name is XXXXXXX and I work for VWR in one of its branches in South India.
My concern is, I think I started to loose a lot of my hair.
I experience this heavy hairfall for the past 1 year or more.
I might be doing something incorrect or insufficient which I am not aware of. I am a male of 30 years old and I work in US shift (4 PM to 1 AM) for more than 4 years now. My work atmosphere generally is good and no pressure for me. The water I use for bathing seems to be a little salty. I oil my hair once in a week. I am a non vegitarian and got a little bit of dandruff problem that seems to be ok for the past two months. None of my family members have this baldness problem including my XXXXXXX parents. I am don't sure how to stop this. Please support !
You still there Dr?
Please acknowledge that you got my request.
ok, thank you.
Do you have family history of hair loss?
No, I think I have mentioned it in my query.
I am not asking about baldness but frequent loss of hair
If you pull the hair would few strands come off in between the fingers
Not that I am aware of. But, in general if someone had gone through this, they would have got baldness.
I don't think they do.
Hair loosening may not be permanent to result in baldness
Human will lose at least 80 to 100 hair per day and that is normal for any person except during pregnancy
Oh, I am sorry. I don't think someone had gone through this in my family.
In pregnancy people retain hair and lose it during lactation
Any best practices for me?
*to stop this?
If you are losing about 100 per day I think you are too worried than you should be
However I give my tips to arrest hair fall
I think I am loosing more comparitively.
Sure, that will help.
1) Keep the hair healthy with at least twice a week hair wash with ph balanced shampoo
Ph balanced means choose shampoo suitable for your hair, if it is oily choose shampoo for oily hair
Any recommendations for me to buy shampoo?
that is easy way of understanding the ph
ok, got it.
If it is dry hair, it is written on the it
for dry hair
2) Do not go out with wet hair and keep the hair short
May I know why not wet hair?
Because I think I am doing that everyday.
4) Wet hair is weighty and attracts a lot of micro and germs
If someone wears helmet a lot of sweat would be formed and it increases the chances
hence they have to clean the hair properly and put the helmet under the sun
5) Frequent greens and root vegetables
Sure Doctor. Thank you for your suggessions.
do you have any more queries for the day?
Is there anything else that I missed?
about best practices to follow?
It would be better if you can get a Trichoanalysis
and check the scalp health
What is that?
What type of hair you have and what measures can be followed
ok sure. I think I am good.
Thank you for visiting me here
Bye for now
Thank you for all your support. I will use the guidelines.
