User :   my husband is experiencing symptoms of a panic attack but I feel it may be something more serious

User :   he was seen by our family doctor on Monday - did blood work and put him on a strong medication - controlled substance, but he is no better
User :   loss of appetite - has to be by an open window - sleep problems - I am thinking it may be something more serious - he is not getting any better

User :   he has had anorism surgery - open heart - and has had part of his colon removed in the past
User :   he is 72
User :   I have a call into our family doctor - but wonder if I should take him to emergency room
User :   he also is being treated for enlarged prostrate
User :   based on his history - I just feel this is something more than just panic attack
User :   he describes his feeling of everything is closing in on him

Doctor :   Please do not delay, as palpitations, looking for more air or sleeping beside a window for more air can be a grave problem that we may not diagnose at home and an EKG has to be done.
