User :   I have been getting severe headaches when I eat red meat.I am a 43yr old white male. This problem started about 6 months ago. Please help!!
Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :   Do you get any other symptoms along with the head ache ?
User :   ok my name is AAAAAAA
User :   no
Doctor :   ok, AAAAAAA
Doctor :   i meant like rashes swelling of the lips etc
User :   none
Doctor :   May i know the nature of the head ache , is it stabbing , diffuse or gripping type ?
User :   my whole head hurts and it feels like my eyes are going to explode
Doctor :   ok, how long after consuming the red meat it takes to onset of the headache ?
User :   6 to 8 hrs. probably
Doctor :   ok, do you get burning chest pain or discomfort during the head ache ?
User :   no and the headache lasts all day
Doctor :   ok, i would consider only two possibilities here , one is due to high protein content of the meat and second a allergy to the Alpha lipoic acid or saturated fatty acids in the meat
Doctor :   i would ask you to take antiallergics like Benadryl during a attack of headache and rule out the allergy per say
User :   ok now i have ringing in my ears but it could be from many years of loud noises at work any suggestions?
Doctor :   Do you mean tinnitus ?
User :   yes i have looked it up do you think that it could be anything else? and what will remedy it?
Doctor :   well two most common cause of tinnitus are nerve weakness which would be treated by taking multivitamins
Doctor :   and the second one being abnormal chemical composition of the endolymph ( fluid in the internal ear )
User :   do you think that the ear problem and the headache are caused by the same thing? if so what?
Doctor :   yes, can be a chance, if its an allergic reaction
User :   i also have a real light headache all of the time ???
Doctor :   ok, do you feel giddiness the same time ?
User :   just dull pain but if i eat any kind of red meat it gets worse
Doctor :   ok, i relate it to the same problem
Doctor :   is the light headedness asssociated with any other symptom ?
User :   no
Doctor :   do not worry , the hear problem and the headache if related , could be due to allergy to the red meat
Doctor :   and easily solved by antiallergics
User :   so what is your suggestion, take some benadryl and eat some steak and see what happens?
Doctor :   yes,
Doctor :   and also have the red meat well boild or burnt before eating
Doctor :   it will ensure the removal of saturated fatty acids to the maximum extent
User :   if that dont do the trick what should i do then
Doctor :   you may have to consult a ENT specialist , to get a detailed examination and pick any other guiding findings
User :   ok i have also had a pain in my right big toe, is this gout and could this be part of the problem too?
Doctor :   is the pain related to eating the red meat
Doctor :   ?
User :   no it just appears sometime
Doctor :   Since when is the pain ?
User :   it dont really hurt right now but sometimes it flares up. this has been for a couple of years now
Doctor :   i do not consider it to be gout , as gout is a progressive condition
Doctor :   could be a solo small joint arthritis triggered by strain on the joint,
Doctor :   it can be prevented by wearing a brace
User :   ok i guess i have just wore out this body and need a overhaul. i will try the benadryl and see if it works this weekend thank you for all of your info
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Take care
