User :   I have had this weird headache for the last two days. it started off as little "jabs". it felt like someone poking me with an ice pick but it would only last about 3-5 seconds and than it would go away. it was on and off. and it was localized to the top part of my head a little to the right

Now today i wake up and have a mild headache in the same spot but it's constant but not terrible and i do feel a little pressure above my right eye.

I am scared that this could be an ruptured aneurysm. I have no other symptoms. except for a thick green mucus that i have a hard time expelling.
Doctor :   hi..
Doctor :

Doctor :
ok.
Doctor :   I shall explain it to you.
Doctor :
Firstly it does not look like ruptured aneurysm or a bleed in the brain
Doctor :
that is causing the pain.
Doctor :
But only a can can tell if you have an aneurysm or not.
Doctor :
Have you followed.
User :   yes. ive had CT scans in the past about 5 months ago. but with no contrast. but CT's cannot detect unruptured aneurysms right?
Doctor :
A CT can pick up large aneurysy.
Doctor :
A smaller aneurysm can be seen only on by a MRI scan.
Doctor :
At this point i shall tell you this.
Doctor :
Ruptured aneurysm is not similar to a simple aneurysm.
Doctor :
That is why i mentioned that your symptoms are not due to rupture definitely.'
Doctor :   Have you followed?
User :   yes. would i know if it was ruptured? and are ruptured aneurysms common??
Doctor :   Ruptured aneurysm is a medical emergency and needs immediate medical attension.
Doctor :
They present as very severe headaches not getting controlled with painkillers.
Doctor :
Usually have vomiting, blurring of vision.
Doctor :
When immediate attentions is not given it can result in coma.
Doctor :
So you do not have any of these symptoms right.
Doctor :
Hence you need not worry if it was a rupture.
User :   no, just a slight headache now. but that is it. i do suffer from an immense amount of anxiety though.
Doctor :   They could be the cause for the headaches.
Doctor :
Usually coined as tension headaches.
Doctor :   They usually disappear in a few days with adequate rest.\
Doctor :
probably you may be having one such similar headache.
Doctor :
Have you followed?
User :   could a sinus infection cause a bad headache on the top of the head?
Doctor :
The pain is from a sinus cause pain over the sinus.
Doctor :
that is over the face and not over the top of the head.
Doctor :
And they last for a few hours and not minutes.
Doctor :
You can also have an eye check up done to know if you have any visual acquity changes that is causing the headaches.
Doctor :
Have you followed?
User :   yes. i think you have answered all my questions.
User :   so i shouldn't worry about this headache?
Doctor :
Do you have any other query?
Doctor :
Yes, do not worry much on the present hadaches.
Doctor :
use tylenol tablets for your pain
Doctor :
and give adequate rest and you shall be fine in a day.
