Having mouth ulcers very often and taking medicines. What could be the cause? - Online Doctor Chats
How can I help you?
I am a male, 34 years old
Since last 3 to 4 months... I am getting mouth ulcers very often
Almost twice in a month....
and this condition remains for around 4 - 5 days
While I do take medicines and get treated...
I am wondering about this frequent recurrence
More keen to know what could be causing this
Have you seen a doctor before trying medicines?
But I am keen to understand what could be causing this... Maybe medicines are just curing the symptoms... not the cause
May I know if you had undergone any tests during the visit?
Let me brief you.
Mouth ulcer also known as aphthous ulcer is caused by unknown factors.
your body genes,
your nutritional state.
oh i see
Rarely these are caused by infective organism.
Vitamin prescription given to you aids both in helping the ulcer heal as well as correct deficiency if any
but if you are developing the ulcers very frequently
I think you need to be investigated for any underlying cause.
I would conduct some tests such as hemogram, common vitamin analysis
apart from studying the ulcer for features of infection.
You should contact a dermatologist
for examination and for testing
to understand specific reasons for recurrence.
I get it....
Have you followed?
Do you have any question?
Since I knew the medicine.... I am taking the same medicine and getting it cured
I got it...
Like I said, vitamin pills aids in both correcting deficiency as well as helps the ulcer heal
Infact I hear you that this could also be due to stress
You may continue vitamin b complex and c supplements
whenever the ulcer happens.
Keep your stress levels under limits through adequate sleep and exercise.
If they continue to recur very frequently
I believe stress maybe leading to nutrtional problems
visit a dermatologist for evaluation.
Stress and nutrition may be linked
ok.... thanks Dr. XXXXXXX ...
but they are entirely different entities. Managing stress will not improve nutrition.
You need to eat a healthy and balanced food for it.
Hope it is clear to you.
Yes... Dr. XXXXXXX
