Doctor:How can I help you?
User:Doctor, i am 25 yrs old women
User:had married few days ago, on saturday my preiod were over that was 5th day, and on tuesday me and my husband had sex without protection, is ther any chance of pregnacy
Doctor:Are your periods regular in the past?
User:last preiods on finished on 12 April, after that it was on 4 Jun, usually its on time due to some tension i thought it might get delayed.
User:finished on 8 jun
Doctor:The period of most fertile days depend entirely on your length of menstrual cycle. Hence when the cycles are grossly irregular as in your case
Doctor:it is extremely hard to determine your fertile days.
Doctor:However, since you were involved in unprotected sexual intercourse a few days after cessation of period,
Doctor:I do not think it would cause pregnancy.
Doctor:That being said, in view of irregular cycles, please watch for symptoms closely.
Doctor:If your periods get missed, you will need to ascertain with urine pregnancy test.
Doctor:Are you following?
User:what would be the best days for sex without protection
Doctor:We will be able to determine the best days / your safe period if your cycles are regular.
Doctor:If the periods are irregular, then the days calculated are not very reliable.
Doctor:If your periods are not very grossly irregular, please mention your last 6 period dates.
Doctor:I shall try calculating your safe period.
Doctor:Are you with me?
User:from last past 6 months its regular except last month. usually its on 4 to 10 of every month
User:yes doctor
Doctor:Since the cycle harmony was disrupted only the last night, I suggest you to wait for couple of months.
User:always difference 2 or 3 days
Doctor:If your cycles remain constant and at 4th to 10th of every month, then the fertile days are likely to fall between 14th to 24th of every month.
Doctor:Unprotected sexual intercourse close to these days can cause pregnancy.
User:also i am having leg pain during periods
Doctor:Keep a close watch for now.
Doctor:If the intercourse was 2 days ago, and you wish to avoid pregnancy, i suggest you to use emergency contraceptive pill such as i pill now.
User:then what are the chances this time
Doctor:Like I said, fertile days and chances of pregnancy following unprotected sexual intercourse is predictable only if cycles are regular.
User:Almost 72 hours are crossed
Doctor:Since the last cycle was not a regular one, chances of pregnancy cannot be predicted now.
User:ok doctor
Doctor:I suggested i-pill presuming the incident was within 72 hours.
Doctor:I-pill has high failure rates when taken after 72 hours.
User:and my husband had got pain in penis during intercourse
Doctor:In this case, I suggest you to monitor the symptoms. Missed period is the precise symptom which needs to be looked for.
Doctor:Get your pregnancy test done if you miss your period.
User:and we are not sure that it was properly inserted or not
Doctor:Pain during intercourse could either be due to reduced lubrication or due to tight foreskin.
User:symptoms like what doctor
Doctor:Missed period is the most important symptoms.
Doctor:Others symptoms include nausea, breast tenderness, increased urination, lower abdominal cramps and other premenstrual symptom.
Doctor:If they occur along with missed period, you need to get tested for pregnancy.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:on 11 jun was finished my periods so i will wait till 15 July, is it ok
User:after that
Doctor:Get the test done if your period do not occur within 15th July.
Doctor:If the initial test comes negative
Doctor:you can repeat the test a week later.
User:today morning suddenly i got pain in my abdomin
Doctor:Negative tests after 2-3 weeks of late period rules of pregnancy.
User:can you tell me the days so that i can follow that days only
Doctor:You mean the days you need to get tested?
User:yes doctor
Doctor:As you expect your period on 15 th july, if your cycles do not begin by then get the test done on 17th July.
Doctor:You need to test the early morning urine sample and follow instructions as printed on pregnancy test kit.
User:ok doctor,
Doctor:If the first test comes negative, you can wait for a weeks time; that is until 22nd July.
Doctor:If periods do not resume, repeat the test on 23rd July.
User:ok doctor
Doctor:2 tests done after a week apart is enough indicator of pregnancy.
Doctor:*unless there is a strong suspicion.
Doctor:Have you followed?
Doctor:Do you have any other questions?
User:on 22,23 the test occurs negative result then
Doctor:If both the tests are negative, then it is unlikely to be due to pregnancy.
Doctor:Most women have severe premenstrual symptoms with such delayed period. Therefore it would be worth while
User:ok doctor
Doctor:to consult your gynecologist.
User:and doctor we are not sure that it was properly inserted or not during sex. is there any way to know
Doctor:She can start you on medications to induce periods; off course after retesting for pregnancy with blood tests.
Doctor:I am sorry, I don't think there would be a way to confirm it.
Doctor:You would need to discuss with your partner and learn about it.
User:ok doctor
Doctor:Do you have any other questions?
User:thanks for the help
User:no doctor
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
User:have great day
