Doctor:How can I help you?
User:Hi doctor, this is XXXXXXX here
User:Hello doctor recently my wife had pregnancy and in tow months due to fetus not growing and cardian pulsation not seen then doctor medically terminated fetus
User:she had given first tablets and then after 10days due to presence of conceptual product she removed by D&C method
User:She did D&C last month 27 and then now she took blood sample of my wife to see any infections TORCH igG and igM tests have been done
User:and it shows rubella positive and Cytomegallovirus positive
User:does these rubella and cmv dangerous?
Doctor:May I know if they were IgM which were positive or IgG?
User:now doctor took my sample also for igm torch test and asked me to come on saturday
User:Rubellaa reading is 65 igg and cmv is 294 igg
User:and in igm both shows 0.02 or some thing i dint remember exact values
Doctor:The values are titre values of immunoglobins.
Doctor:And the reference ranges for these vary from centre to centre.
User:igm for rubella and cmv shows less then critical values in IGM but still doctor underlined it
Doctor:Therefore it might be better if you can tell me the final results - was it mentioned positive or negative.
User:oh but these 2 values are much higher than what the reference value
User:igg rubella positive
User:and igg cmv also positive
Doctor:It seems you have moved out of the chat window.
Doctor:Are you there?
Doctor:Let me brief you.
User:igm rubella and igm cmv also rhown as positive in report but they are less than ctritical reference value
Doctor:There are 2 sets of immunoglobin IgG and IgM which are tested for most infection.
Doctor:A positive IgG indicates old infection or an immunised individual.
Doctor:Positive IgM indicates active infection.
User:both positive indicates current infection and past as well
User:is it?
Doctor:If IgM was reported positive, then this could mean 2 things:
Doctor:1. She was infected earlier (the period including the pregnancy) and
Doctor:the body is fighting the infection to clear it up.
User:oh ok
Doctor:2. Yes, she had an infection earlier but due to pregnancy there was a flare up.
User:is this a serious virus?
Doctor:Of these 2, the first one seems most likely.
Doctor:Both the viruses can cause serious troubles.
User:troubles to she and me or to babies?
Doctor:However the chances of serious complications are much lower in a normal healthy human.
User:i searched in net it shows cmv affects to hiv people ... is this true?
Doctor:You seem to have more questions, I might be able to clear all your doubts better one by one over a phone call. Can I call you now to discuss?
User:doctor ok give me phone number i ll call u
Doctor:Please confirm your phone number, I will call you back.
User:bye doctor
Doctor:I hope I have clarified your doubts.
Doctor:Thanks for consulting.
