Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr. XXX
User :   Hi
User :   I have had some changes in my stool the last 2-3 months and are a bit worried
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Can you please describe them in detail
Doctor :   The color, quantity, consistency and the frequency these details make it better
Doctor :   I think you are typing,
User :   Ok, in april I had almost diarrahea than it changed to really thin "snakelike" not all the time but a few times a week, since I during the same period have been on a pretty tough diet I started eating normally again, now it is almost normal size, but a grey almost white color, the stool has been kind of slimy during these 2 -3 months
Doctor :   What is the frequency now per day/ week?
Doctor :   Is it normal in consistency?
Doctor :   What is your age and gender?
User :   About 1 - 3 times a day, I never really feel that all has come out
User :   I am 39, male
User :   My usual rythm is once a day sometimes twice
User :   the color is only "grey" on the outside, the color inside the stool is brown, almost normal i texture, but a bit slimy
Doctor :   Do you have mucus, slimy thing
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Do you have any significant family history of Crohn's, Colitis etc
User :   no crohns or colitis n family,
Doctor :   Do you have abdominal pain during passage of stool or resting?
User :   I have also had some problems when drinking carbonized drinks, like coke/mineral water, so I stopped with coffe and it has been much better the last 2 weeks
Doctor :   Do you have rectal pain
User :   No, no pain
Doctor :   Do you think the stool is normal in consistency and frequency as 4 months back(when you were completely normal) apart from the color
User :   No, it is a bit slimy, smaller in size (not as thick as normal) total consistency I think is pretty normal, and another thing is that i seems to be floating sometimes which I never has experenced before, or noticed
Doctor :   Ok, Was an Ultrasound done?
Doctor :   abdomen done earlier
Doctor :   Any tests like Liver function, Urine and Stool tests done?
User :   No ultrasound, I had some tests on liver values and blood, not sure what they checked, but it came out normal, no cheeck on stool
Doctor :   Ok let me probe into your previous illness of diarrhoea?\
Doctor :   How long did it last? Was it watery associated with blood?
Doctor :   Did you have stomach pain and fever?
User :   No blood, maybe watery, I can't say that I have experienced pain, and no fever
User :   I feel good physically, running 4 times a week
Doctor :   Jaundice then or now?
User :   No
Doctor :   How long did the diarrhoea last?
User :   About a month, I was in XXX on vacation first two weeks in april, thats when it the diarrhoea started, I still have diarrhoea a few times every week
Doctor :   How do you feel now apart from the stool, like are you able to digest well, energetic and not tired at the end of the day
User :   I feel pretty good, a bit tired after work, but not more than normal, always a lot more energetic after I have done som jogging for about an hour
User :   I digest normal, eat normal, 3 - 4 meals a day
Doctor :   I think you are just doing fine and it is taking little more time
Doctor :   to recover
User :   What can be the cause, bacterias?
Doctor :   Virus
User :   Ok, do you think it is possible to "upset" the system with a very, very strict diet that I went on between end february until mid may
Doctor :   Yes it can be
Doctor :   I suggest you to be on normal diet
Doctor :   till the time you feel that the stool has come back normal
Doctor :   I still think that you are doing perfectly fine in terms of appetite, the quantity of food, energy levels
Doctor :   You do not express any symptoms to be worrisome
Doctor :   If needed, a stool microscopy test shall be good to screen
User :   Ok, that sounds very reassuring
Doctor :   Do you still have some questions about it?
User :   Since I have colon cancer in my family (mother, grandmother) I have been checking my stool for many years, and never had any problems before, it is easy to become a bit worried especially the coloration.
Doctor :   Ok, I suggest to keep continuing them, a regular thing comes up after 40 yrs with Colonoscopy once a year
Doctor :   I guess the current test is SOBT, stool for occult blood test
User :   OK, a last question,
User :   if it is a virus, how long can I expect symptoms, is it a few more months, or are we talking years, I know it is an impossible question to answer, but anyway...
Doctor :   Definitely not years
User :   Ok, thank you Dr. XXX for your time
Doctor :   Continue to restrict the lactose, coffee, carbonating driinks
Doctor :   Note the changes
Doctor :   and make a note of these events to explain properly to a Doctor if yoiu happen to meet in future
Doctor :   I hope this is helpful
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Bye for now
User :   Bye
