Doctor:Good afternoon
User:good afternoon
User:Hello Doctor
Doctor:Please proceed with your query
User:I am getting itching on back of my hands @night only during bed time. I apply some cream. It stays for some time and then it is gone. Secondly, I get red dots(itches a lot) often. I apply candiderma for couple of days and it goes away. Can you help?
User:red dots comes in underarms
Doctor:If there is more of itching, then it is probably a fungal infection. In such case, Candiderma will surely help
User:Candiderma helps me a lot...but it comes back based on either weather change..comes often in summers
User:on hands...I just apply regular moistuirizer
Doctor:Yes, it is expected as in summers there is more sweating, more moisture in the arm and arm pits, fungal infections happen often
User:What is remedy?
Doctor:Probably your skin type is dry as well
Doctor:The solution is easy
User:earlier, it was in very small portion, but it is slowly expanded to whole armpit...leaving scars...
Doctor:You need to apply good moisturizer every 2 to 3 hours to keep your skin away from drying
Doctor:That is not a good sign
Doctor:However, it can be treated has happened over time..
Doctor:You can use Candiderma as and when there is itching
Doctor:Let me tell you, if there is a new fungal infection, you need to use the ointment for a minimum of 6 weeks for it to go away completely
Doctor:Fungal infections are known for recurrence
Doctor:You need to be careful
User:these days, I even get occassional itching on chest but no other signs there...this is worrying me
Doctor:and complete the treatment every time you have anew skin infection
User:oh I should apply candiderma for 6 weeks or there is something milder
Doctor:Candiderma is the best
Doctor:you should apply it for a minimum of 6 weeks as I said and daily twice on the affected areas
Doctor:That is when the fungal infection is cured
User:THanks doctor...I had one more query..
Doctor:Please ask me
User:my son(2.9 y) has scalp dandruff on head...which causes white spot on head...what should we apply?
Doctor:You can try Nizral shampoo twice in a week
Doctor:It will take the dandruff away from his scalp
User:is it safe for kids?
Doctor:Yes, it is. make sure he does not swallow or it does not get into his eyes
Doctor:Are you there?
Doctor:Are you there?
Doctor:It seems like you are not responding
User:sorry doctor
Doctor:Are you there now?
Doctor:Are you following me?
User:actually, he has similar skin problems.
Doctor:He need effective moisturizer as well
User:last time we showed him to doctor...she gave desowen to start with...once the patches from body are gone...she asked to apply Picon....
User:she also gave a paraffin lotion..
User:his patches are very less but comes sometimes on some part of body..
Doctor:Yes, they are effective as well
User:can you suggest something on ongoing basis
User:any good moisturizer for both of us?
Doctor:In fact, paraffin lotion is the best moisturizer, both of you can use that
Doctor:It is very effective
User:so you can apply it after bath?
User:or twice a day?
Doctor:It is a bit more sticky
Doctor:You may apply it in the night and wash it off in the morning
Doctor:In the day time, you can use a milder lotion like Nivea or Dove
User:I am using Olay
Doctor:Yes, olay is fine for day time
User:do we need to apply any cream other than paraffin for my son?
Doctor:No, not required
