User :   I have recently developed a few warts in the base of my penis and after investigation on the internet it seems like it's genital warts. I have no symptons or pain. I need a doctor to get a precription and I don't know what kind of doctor to see. I inquired at the local county clinics and they are a nightmare. I have health insurance however I dont know who to see or what to do. Please help
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hi
Doctor :
You need to see a dermatologist for the evaluation and treatment.
Doctor :
Is there any thing else I can help you with.
User :   Really, a dermatoligist. I had an STD blood test a few months ago and that was fine. They have a clinic that is open for a few hours a week locally however I don't want to deal with that. If I go to a dermotoligist I don't want to explain to the staff until i see the doctor. It is embarassing
User :   XXXXXXXX it will take forever to get an appointment and im very nervous
Doctor :   You can directly go the the doctor or alternatively you may visit your local general practitioner who can refer you to one.

User :   There are many advertisments for mail order creams for genital warts, do you think they work?
User :   I don't need referals, I can go directly if i want
Doctor :
The treatment for warts can be from wart removal creams.
User :   do they work?
Doctor :   Since the wart is present over the base of the penis an alternative cryosurgery can be very effective.
Doctor :
The cryosurgery will be more effective in treating it.
User :   What is cryosurgery and who does it
Doctor :
You may also need vaccination against HVV 16 an 11.
Doctor :
which will prevent malignancy.
Doctor :
Hence it would be better you visit the doctor instead of availing treatment online.
User :   I guess the STD clinic can do both, treat and vaccinate
Doctor :
Cryosurgery is a procedure where the wart is cauterised either by electro cautery or by freezing technique.
Doctor :
This process are done by a dermatologist.
Doctor :
And may not be available at the STD clinic.
User :   that sounds unpleasant, is it a quick procedure?
Doctor :   It is on procedure which can be done at the OPD and hence is a quick one.
Doctor :
Have you followed?
Doctor :
* its a procedure done on OPD, I meant.
User :   I guess it would be quickest to go to the clinic tomorrow. It will take long time to get a dermo appt. They are not to bad hopefully the clinic can precribe some cream instead. I guess they could vaccinate too?
Doctor :
the alternative treatment if you are not planning for the cyrosurgery are the wart removal creams.
User :   I dont want it to get worse
Doctor :
You may avail this at the STD clinic too.
Doctor :
You can visit the clinic and if required may get referred to the dermatologist through them.
Doctor :
So the choice is yours.
Doctor :
I would suggest you to practize safe sex till then.
User :   Thank you for your help
Doctor :
Or still better to avoid sex till the treatment and vaccination is done.
Doctor :
Do you have any other query?
Doctor :
Are you there?
User :   no thank you
Doctor :
Please fill the feed back form too before you close the session.
User :   i appreciate your help
