Doctor :   the benefits of these drugs
User :   i am not getting it
User :   should i go for the drug or not
Doctor :   Just go ahead with the treatment
Doctor :   its benefits are more than the side effects
User :   if she has not a TB infection then.............since as per the doctor PCR is not a sure shot test.
User :   what could be the effects if she is not infected by TB
Doctor :   Yes, even then it has to be used
Doctor :   even a slight doubt of TB
User :   means this should not harm in case of no TB also
Doctor :   It has its side effects, yet its benefit is high in case she does have TB
Doctor :   Suppose she does have TB, but we are not sure & we abstain from ATT

User :   i am fully agree with this
User :   my intention to discuss with you was that i was concered if any bad effect og drug in case of giving without the infection
User :   now i am satisfied.
User :   if any other point related to this you can mention.....would be a great help to me
Doctor :   Yes, once the treatment has begun
Doctor :   the patient is supposed to finish the entire course without a break
User :   how long it is?
Doctor :   in case of discontinuation of treatment, the organisms will become resistant
Doctor :   to ATT
Doctor :   Duration can be anything from 6months to 1year
Doctor :   The treating doctor has to decide
User :   any other test for TB other than PCR is there?
Doctor :   Any new symptoms while the treatment is on should be reported to your doctor as it could be an adverse effect
Doctor :   for pulmonary TB, sputum examination can confirm infection
User :   it is a case of utrus TB
Doctor :   There are other antigen detection tests
Doctor :   similar to PCR
Doctor :   hysterosalpingography (HSG) is the initial procedure performed for the evaluation
User :   thank you for your advice
Doctor :   culture from uterine curetting can also be done
Doctor :   Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   should we go for the test before drug........
Doctor :   culture can be done, but a negative test or no growth does not warrant not initiating ATT
Doctor :   ATT has to taken anyway, as PCR has detected it
Doctor :   hysterosalpingography (HSG) can show changes of TB
User :   means we can go for HSG anytime midway to find the effectiveness
