User :   I have a 5 yr old boy that began complaining of a stomachace last night. He vomited what appeared to be mucous this morning. Has a low- grade fever and stomachache today. And, now he just threw up again. Should I take him to his pediatrician?
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr
Doctor :   yes,
Doctor :   does he have loose stools
Doctor :   as it could be a start sign of gastroenteritis which is common amongst in children
User :   Well, that's a good question. They have been loose today. However, there have also been part of the stools that seemed more like constipation. I know that sounds weird.
User :   But, he's been to the potty much more than usual today.
Doctor :   yes, its seen in gastroentritis
User :   He has fallen asleep right after vomiting. If he awakes, can he have Children's Pepto or should I just give clear liquids?
Doctor :   thats good , you can give him
Doctor :   but do not load the stomach at a time
Doctor :   let it be small frequent feeding
Doctor :   it will prevent vomiting
User :   But will the Children's Pepto Bismol help?
Doctor :   it will ,
Doctor :   but he needs further care , like antibiotics
User :   OK- thank you for your advice. I'll take him in the morning.
User :   Can this also be what they call stomach flu?
Doctor :   ou are welcome
Doctor :   no , not a suspection
User :   Ok- Well, thanks. Have a good evening (or day, whatever time it is where you are).
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me , kindly provide your feedback
User :   Will do.
Doctor :   Bye for now
Doctor :   Take care
