Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
How can I help you?
User :   yes my husband has a pain in his right side of his stomach area, we had an x-ray done to see if it was his ribs but the results came back as there is nothing there. it hurts him when he tries to lay down get up and breath sometimes also when i am driving around sharp corners or bumps. just to let you know to that liver cancer runs in his family.
Doctor :
Is it in the upper or middle or lower part, on the right side?
User :   middle to upper
Doctor :
What is the severity of the pain on a scale of 1 to 10?
User :   mostly a ten
Doctor :
Does the pain increase on lying down?
User :   seems to stay the same
Doctor :
What positions does it increase or decrease in severity
User :   only standing up helps him
Doctor :   What is his age, occupation ?
User :   36 and disability
Doctor :
Is he able to speak now?
User :   n da shower
Doctor :   When did the pain started first?
Doctor :
Any medicine yet?
User :   a couple of wks now
User :   norco but they are not working anymore
Doctor :
Any tests done?
User :   xray only
Doctor :
Ultrasound scan , blood tests
Doctor :
What did the Doctor opine?
User :   no the doctor said he gonna send him to a ortho doc
Doctor :   Any fever / vomiting / loose stools when pain started?
Doctor :
Why an ortho?
Doctor :
Is it in the stomach or outside?
User :   dont know really cause they x-ray came back with nothing wrong
Doctor :
Does he have pain anywhere else?
Doctor :
Back, thighs
User :   no not really i mean he has leg pain but that was way before this started
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :
are you back?
User :   yeah
Doctor :
please give me few moments to go through your earlier discussion
Doctor :
such that we can continue the discussion
User :   thanks
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :
so the doctor whom you saw is refering him to ortho doc for his leg pains?
User :   no
Doctor :   then for what reason ortho referal is done? since there was nothing wrong found in x-ray
User :   dont know why if the x-ray results came back as showing no fractures, broken bones or lesions then why he is sending him is beyond me
Doctor :
since there is a history of liver cancer in family and he has pain in right upper stomach, he should be refered to a gastroentetologist and further investigations
User :   but since that came back negative it is making me and my husband worry about what is really causing him the pain then
Doctor :
like ultrasound/CT ?MRI abdomen, blood tests, and tumor marker tests should be done
Doctor :
to see wht is causing him so much of pain
Doctor :
and take early treatment for the same
User :   you would think that the doctor would have requested that to be done but nothing
User :   yes i know he has had four relatives die from the liver cancer
Doctor :
so he should be taken for a early diagnosis and treatment to prevent further spread of cancer if the pain is due to cancer
User :   so an ortho doc cant do any of that though right
Doctor :
ortho doc is someone who can deal with bones, muscles, ligaments and loints
Doctor :
unless there is such problem suspected to be the reason for pain upon examination
User :   but if he is in this much pain should i take him in to a urgent care or wait for the ortho referral
Doctor :
*joints
Doctor :
if pain is sevre and not tolerable even with medication use, take him to ER/Urgent care
Doctor :
and get these tests done, you can ask/request the doc there to rule out liver cancer
User :   yeah cause the norco and mortin is not cutting for him
Doctor :
since there is family history for the same
User :   yes i know
Doctor :   have you followed what i have said?
User :   yes
Doctor :
Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   but i think he has a question for you one second please
Doctor :   sure please proceed
Doctor :

User :   it hurts me when i drink anything too
Doctor :   ok

User :   my pain is about a 9 right now
