User :   whenever I lay down I feel as if my throat is jumping around! I have some burning and a bad taste in my throat. what could this be?

User :   not always

or after having fatty foods? fried stuff? spicy foods?
User :   sometimes. it seems to come and go throughout the day

User :   it does feel as though there is something stuck

I will suggest you to do a few things, please follow these instruction for a week

Doctor :   avoid spicy foods, try and take bland foods

small meals spread over 5-6 times a day
Doctor :   the idea is not to leave stomach empty for more than three hours

take Tab Prilosec one tablet before food two times a day.

drink lots of water, 8-10 glases per day
Doctor :   do not lie down immediately after eating , leave a gap of atleast half hour between eating and lying down
Doctor :   drink chilled milk half a glass, two times a day, it will soothe the burning feeling

it is due to the irritation with the acid regurgitating into esophagus and coming to thoat

when you lie down, the esophago gastric sphincter becomes laxed and acid can easily regurgitate

irritating the mucosal lining of esophagus and throat

and the mucus secreted due to this gets collected in the throat

giving you the 'something getting stuck' feeling.
