User :   Hi,
pls can you let me know what the normal fetal heartbeat is at just over 6 weeks pregnancy (6 weeks and 2 days)
thanks, take care
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   please give em a moment while I calculate
User :   thanks
Doctor :   Normal heart rate at 6 weeks should be around 90-110 beats per minute (bpm)
Doctor :   what does the ultrasound report say?
User :   the ultrasound showed 100, then 99 and then 102
Doctor :   It seems you have moved out of the chat window. Please log in back if you have medical queries.
User :   sorry am back in...
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   when was it taken? if it was early in morning with you in fasting or more than 2 hours of eating/drinking anything
Doctor :   then the baby will have hypoglycemia along with you
User :   at 2pm and within 2 hours of eating and drinking...
Doctor :   so the heart rate might be low. if you repeat the scan after having a juice or after eating, then baby can pick up
Doctor :   did the scan show any other abnormalities?
User :   sorry just to confirm can after eating or drinking slow it down or speed it other measured exactly the right date I had recorded
Doctor :   ok. after eating/drinking juice, it should go up , should not be low
Doctor :   your baby's heart rate is within normal range
Doctor :   so do not worry, it is just on the lower side
Doctor :   as long as there was no other abnormality, baby should be fine
User :   thank you very much for your help! i really appreciate it
Doctor :   if you are worried, get repeat scan done at end of 12 weeks or 20 weeks to look for fetal well being and to look for any abnormalities
Doctor :   as after 12 weeks most organ systems are well developed
User :   i will do so, thank you
Doctor :   so if anything is worrysome, it will get picked in scan.
Doctor :   maintain a good diet
Doctor :   and take your pre-natal vitamins and iron supplements regularly
Doctor :   avoid smoking, both active and passive, it can affect blood supply to baby
Doctor :   by affecting placental circulation
Doctor :   and avoid alcohol in all forms, it can cause narrowing of placental vessels leading to low blood flow to baby
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
Doctor :   are you there?
User :   thank you, that is all, take care
Doctor :   ok. thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
User :   bye
