User:I wanted to check few things about diabieties
Doctor:yes, please do ask.
User:mine present level of sugar fasting is around 120-130
User:last year I came to know of high sugar - which was 197 fasting
User:since then I ahve completely avoided intake of sugar in any form
User:in between for a month I had a regular exercise also
User:and sugar level came down to 109-110 fasting after exercise before exercise it was 115-117
User:now again it is at 120-130 fluctuates at this levle
User:mine first HB1c test was around 8
User:after 4-5 months it was less than 7
User:what do you suggest
User:i am on no medication
Doctor:The HBA1c is a parameter which indicates the sugar control over previous three months
Doctor:Since I see it has been reduces by a unit, I consider the blood sugar levels are in control
User:ok any dietry suggestions
Doctor:There is no need to worry about the recent fasting sugar levels
User:why it is high 120-130 ?
Doctor:As the sugar levels can fluctuate even during exercise if there is any change in the diet pattern
Doctor:The timing of the food, the type of foods and the carbohydrate content of the food influence the sugar levels even if you do exercises to control the same
Doctor:Do concentrate on the diet and avoid carbohydrate foods to control the sugar levels within limit.

User:i dont take potatoes, rice and eat chapaties of mix ( wheat, bajra, maize, chana powder) is this ok
User:what other should i avoid to control sugar
Doctor:Yes, do continue on the same
Doctor:Do consume foods with high fiber content
Doctor:Vegetables salads,Green leafy vegetables, fruits like XXXXXXX papaya etc.
User: XXXXXXX & papaya are sweet - will they not raise the sugar level
Doctor:You can take Psyllium husk
Doctor:Papaya may mildly rise the sugar but XXXXXXX is good even for diabetics
User:Psyllium husk is what ?
Doctor:Its a husk which helps to make the stool bulk also reduce the sugar absorption
Doctor:It is available with brand name ISABGOL
User:ok - when should I take it & how much
Doctor:A spoon of husk in a glass of water after food in the nights
Doctor:There would be no problem in taking it for long
User:is my sugar level under control or do i need to visit a specialist ?
Doctor:For now I would consider it near range
Doctor:There is no need to worry
User:and what about intake of sweets or any sweet item
Doctor:Do restrict the sweets
User:restricy or completely stop - what is your advise
Doctor:I would say to restrict. One or two rarely may not cause any problem
