User :   hi, im 21 and i am seeing flashing lights and dots all the time in both eyes. i have had a full eye test and have been given the all clear. what could be casuing it and how do i get rid of it?
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   hi
Doctor :   During what time of the day you see them ?
User :   all the time
User :   it gets worse when im tierd
Doctor :   ok, Do you see colored hallows around a light source ?
User :   no
Doctor :   How is your vision ?
User :   my eye test was perfect
Doctor :   ok, have you been examined by a slit lamp ?
User :   what is that?
Doctor :   its a test done with a big instrument , where the inner aspects of the eye are examined ,( like retina , the vitreous , the lens etc )
User :   yes, the test conclued that my retina etc are all fine
User :   do you think it might be to do with my brain?
Doctor :   a very rare consideration
Doctor :   but i would advice a repeat test by another specialist
User :   i had a drug induced phycosis a few years back and this is when it started.. the eye floaters disspaered but now they are back
Doctor :   When did they disappear ?
User :   they only used to appear at night or if i was tierd but now they are here all the time
Doctor :   ok, i do not think its anything to do with brain
Doctor :   you do need a better detailed slit lamp examination
Doctor :   its retina or the vitreous which could possibly be affected
User :   i had a full one, that looked right to the back of my eye. my retina is attached etc..
Doctor :   Are the floaters fixed to the focus of the vision ?
User :   they are all over my vision
Doctor :   i mean to ask about there movement on moving the gaze ( the focus )?
User :   they move
Doctor :   then it would be from the fixed structure like lens or retina
User :   ok
User :   thanks
User :   i really dont think my actual eye is the problem tho
Doctor :   i would ask you to get a repeated slit lamp examination
User :   ok
Doctor :   thats the gold standard
User :   thank you
Doctor :   Brain or psychological causes can be considered only when the eye causes are completely ruled out by repeat tests
User :   i think it is brain or phycological
User :   ...
Doctor :   lets not be so fast in deciding that , take time , test the eye repeatedly and then consider the other casues
Doctor :   You may be right too , there are chances but very rare
User :   ok its just because of the drug phycosis
User :   my eyes were fine before that
User :   so i must of done brain damge
Doctor :   can be considered
User :   or have psyvological problems
Doctor :   yes, psychological cause is more likely when compared to actual organic damage to the brain
User :   ok thank you
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Kindly provide your feedback
