On and off, I feel a light flash kind of sensation at the left corner of my eye. Is that something to worry about?
Doctor:This is Dr XXXXXXX
User:Hi Dr
Doctor:How old are you?
User:I am 39
Doctor:Do you wear glasses?
Doctor:Any history of conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure or anything else?
User:yes, Both, I take medicine for diabetes and BP
Doctor:then we could be looking at something serious XXXXXXX
Doctor:and you should definitely be seeing an ophthalmologist
Doctor:Actually, people with diabetes and high blood pressure
Doctor:can have tears in the retina or they could have bleeds in the vitreous
Doctor:That is why they can have flashes
User:there is a cure for this I hope?
Doctor:For how long have you had this diabetes and high blood pressure
User:for about 5 yrs now
Doctor:Did you not have an eye screen?
User:Do u mean a eye check up?
User:i had one as part of a full body check up few months back
User:but I think they only did a vision test
Doctor:Actually diabetics need to have a proper eye test once in 5 years
User:i will contact a ophthalmologist asap then
Doctor:Also, I would want you to check your feet daily, not walk barefoot and get a urine microalbumin done once every years
Doctor:Was a cholesterol level and ECG also done?
User:yes, that was ok
User:i had done a stress test also
Doctor:ok, good
Doctor:Was urine microalbumin level done
User:i will need to check that, but urine and blood tests were done, lipid and renal profile
Doctor:When you have the time, send the reports to me by email
Doctor:and we can draw up a comprehensive wellness plan for you
Doctor:Email at YYYY@YYYY
Doctor:In the subject line, write Attention to Dr XXXXXXX
User:ok, but these reports were about 6 months back
Doctor:thats fine
Doctor:In any case, they need to be done once a year
User:ok fine
Doctor:Is there anything else I can help you with?
User:one more thing,
User:I quit smoking smoking about 20 days back,
User:however I feel a soreness in my throat on one side on and off
User:and secondly, sometimes, my tongue feels swollen
User:are these withdrawal sysmptoms
Doctor:There can be some physical discomfort when you quit smoking
Doctor:But its only a matter of time
Doctor:You can have some sugar free gum or mint
Doctor:The feeling should disappear
User:thanks, I will send you the scan copies of the reports
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me
Doctor:Please see an ophthalmologist
Doctor:Take care
