User :   I'm getting a dark spot on my right eye (in the upper portion of field of vision). This has been happening for weeks now, but I JUST found out how to duplicate it. When I exercise, it appears. I had cancer in that eye in 2009 and had radiation at Bascom Palmer. I've been to a regular eye doctor about it, but there was no diagnosis...and I didn't know how to duplicate the issue or how to really explain it. Could it be neurological?
Doctor :   hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   let me read your query
Doctor :   may i know your age ?
User :   37
Doctor :   and may i know what was the diagnosis of the cancer of the eye ?
Doctor :   i mean pathological diagnosis
User :   It was a melanoma inside the right eye. I can't remember what the actual term was. I had plaque radiation therapy. They did not do a biopsy because I would lose my eye.
User :   it was also irregular in shape...unlike a neavus that I also have
Doctor :   in that case, you should get an examination of the eye again, so as to check for recurrance
User :   did that, and I have a new spot right next to it :( BUT the odd thing is that he said it would have no bearing on the black spot issue. I'm at a loss
Doctor :   a slit lamp examination would help
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   in that case , this could just be a fibrosis in the retinal tissue
Doctor :   with no long term changes
User :   I also had a full day of double vision (in that same eye only) on Sunday, Feb 6th. That has not come back...but it was the entire day and it was verticle double vision. The dr also said the new growth would not be the cause of that
Doctor :   if the condition worsens, or the blind spot increases, then probably steroid therapy may be used to reduce the condition
Doctor :   or prevent further worsening
User :   so I shouldn't be that concerned then, except keep it under watch and pay more attention to the new growth
Doctor :   yes
User :   ok. Thanks
Doctor :   you are welcome
