Doctor:Good Evening
User:good evening
Doctor:I am Dr. XXXXXXX
Doctor:How can I help you?
User:I had double hernia on Nov 1st 2012
User:since last week or so, Im feeling burning sensation at right side of the operated area
User:not full area but jst at the tip of the surgery area
User:it feels like someone is pealing my skin
User:from inside
Doctor:Do you have any pain or swelling in the area?
Doctor:Is there any reddness?
User:it's not the pain it's the burning
User:the line is light red / pink
User:if im sleeping i dont even feel that i got operated
User:burning is only when I stand or walk
User:is it normal ?
Doctor:Yes, it is normal.
Doctor:Let me brief you.
User:the numbness on both the sides are mostly gone
Doctor:It is just 2 months since the hernia repair.
Doctor:The scar formation inside might take a bit of time. Say around 6-8 months.
Doctor:Until then there can be a slight pulling or burning feeling.
Doctor:If you feel that there is pain, swelling or reddness in the area, that shows an infection.
Doctor:In that case you will need antibiotics.
User:reddness u mean on the line (or the scar) or any where else ?
Doctor:Surrounding the scar area.
User:oh, then it is fine, surrounding is normal skin
Doctor:For the present situation, you can take mild analgesics such as Brufen 400mg after food, twice daily.
User:and i dont have pain
User:for 2-3 days ?
Doctor:2 days should be fine.
User:Brufen and iBrufen are same or diff ?
Doctor:Both are same.
User:i ask coz i have iBrufen at home
Doctor:That would be fine.
Doctor:If the burning sensation does not go away within 2 days, you can have your family physician to have a look.
User:oh normal physician will do ?
User:i dont have to visit the surgeon by itself
Doctor:Yes. Surgeon may not be required, if it is just this burning sensation.
User:I have another question:
User:I'm planning to travel this month end to Delhi, is that fine ?
User:for a week or so
Doctor:You can travel. There is no problem with that.
Doctor:But avoid carrying luggage more than 5 Kgs.
User:yes sure
Doctor:Do not bend or stress on anything.
User:thanks a lot, that really helped, i mean mentally
Doctor:Just make sure that you don't give any pressure onto your abdomen.
Doctor:Make sure you have more of vegetables on travel to avoid constipation.
User:sitting for long time say (7-8) hrs is that fine ?
Doctor:You have to move around atleast once in 1 hour.
User:okay, that make sense, I dont have to sleep, walking is fine right
Doctor:Have you followed?
Doctor:Is there anything else which I could help you on?
User:not for now, but that really helped a lot
User:thanks much
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:It was nice talking to you.
User:same here
Doctor:Let me know if you have any other health queries.
Doctor:Have a nice weekend!
User:you too, bye
