User :   My daughter is 15 years old and has been having a lot of health issues lately. She was diagnosed with PCOS two years ago. In the past year she has gained 24 pounds, had strep throat twice, had acute appendicitis followed by severe distended bowel syndrome, pink eye and just this past two weeks she has been experiencing dizziness, heart pain and shortness of breath. It is so bad that she loses conscientiousness. Blood tests are all normal. Her oxygen saturation was 100% and her lungs sounded clear. No thyroid issues are showing up on the blood test and the chest x-ray was also clear. I am very concerned about her. We are going to a cardiologist next. Any suggestions?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
Let me read it
User :   Oops she loses consciousness, she is conscientious. haha sorry!
Doctor :   Does she get joint pains?

User :   Yes but she is also a very active athlete so some of that is to be expected.
Doctor :
Does she have rashes?
Doctor :
Or swellings?
User :   She did when she was young. I cant say that she has really had one recently. Her neck has been bothering her. Her face and eyes swell sometimes. What types of swellings?
Doctor :
Little swellings on her hands?
Doctor :
User :   I haven't noticed anything with her hands. She will complain of swelling in her knees and ankles.
Doctor :
Doctor :
Going to the cardiologist is the best
Doctor :
thing to do now
Doctor :
Looking at the history you have given
Doctor :
There are a few possible diagnosis, that any physician will like to rule out
User :   Do you think we should look into her thyroid further? How accurate are the initial blood tests for thyroid problems? She has never had a normal temperature in her life. Even when she is super sick, she has like a 98 degree temp. Do you think that has any relevance?
Doctor :
Yes you can get the Thyroid functions repeated
Doctor :
Its better to leave that decision to the cardiologist
Doctor :
There are a few possible diagnosis, that any physician will like to rule out - Rheumatic fever/heart disease, Inflammatory Bowel disease, Hypothyroidism as you suspect
Doctor :
For controlling the problem of PCOS, her weight needs to be in very good control
