User :   ct scan results, the extrahepatic bile duct is dilated measuring 15mm, is this abnormal?

Doctor :   Extrahepatic dilatation is abnormal

Doctor :   which can occur in cases of obstruction to the gall bladder secretions such as in gall bladder stones.
User :   I had the ct scan for rt upper pain, they found multiple kidney stones, however I believe that the pain is from something else as i hurt even when i drink water.

User :   female 55 yrs, diabetic
Doctor :   Can you describe the nature of the pain?
User :   almost always especially when eating
Doctor :   Do you feel the pain as a spasmodic pain, burning sensation or a dull ache?
Doctor :   and since when are you having the pain?
User :   all 3 when I have the pain, i am so concerned

Doctor :   Let me brief you.
Doctor :   Since I cannot perform a physical examination, I am cannot predict the exact diagnosis for the pain, however
Doctor :   I shall provide you with few information in this regard.
Doctor :   Right upper abdominal pain can occur due to multiple causes which includes, lung infections, cholecystitis, gall stones, peptic ulcers and so on.
Doctor :   They can also occur secondary to stress, anxiety and other psychological causes too.
Doctor :   Hence I suggest you to discuss with your treating doctor who will be able to give you the exact cause for the pain, in the mean time,
Doctor :   I shall suggest you few meaures that should also help.
Doctor :   1. Be regular with your dietary habits.
Doctor :   2. Use antacid syrups such as Syp Mucaine gel 2tsp twice daily before meals.
Doctor :   3. Simple analgesics such as paracetamol tablets can be used if the pain is very severe and is not controlled inspite of the antacids.
Doctor :   4. Weight reducing physical exercises.
Doctor :   5. Restrict caffeine and oily food.
Doctor :   6. Reduce stress and anxiety.
Doctor :   7. Lastly you may need further evaluation such as endoscopy and ERCP, if your symptoms are persisting, which can be decided after consulting a gastroenterologist.
