User :   I had endometrial cancer 4 years ago...stage 1b...no lymph node affected. My CA 125 last Jan. was 37, retested 3 months later down to 31. With my most recent visit to oncologist, he said I did not have to come back for a year, but my CA 125 was elevated again to 42. I have been diagnosed with fatty liver. Could that be affecting the increased levels?
Doctor :   hello
Doctor :   i am DR here
Doctor :   give me a min, let me read your query
User :   ok
Doctor :   may i know your age please ?
User :   57
Doctor :   do you have anyother medical condition ?
Doctor :   high blood pressure or diabetes ?
User :   arthritis, but no....healthy
User :   yes..sorry..high BP
Doctor :   and what all medications are you on >
Doctor :   ?
Doctor :   is your blood pressure under control?
User :   zipsor for arthritis....atenyol...50mg.....HTCZ....effexor.....prevacid

Doctor :   and when were you diagnosed with fatty liver ?
User :   last summer when my liver emzynes were high. they have been high for about 2 yrs now. ultra sound on liver and kidneys last summer were normal...also had a CT scan last Jan. when ca125 was elevated and it was normal as well
Doctor :   do you smoke or consume alcohol ?
User :   no smoke....alchohol occasionally
Doctor :   ok to begin with i am sure you must have been advised by your doc to STOP alcohol
Doctor :   thats crucial
User :   yes
Doctor :   and now coming on your elevated levels of CA 125
Doctor :   there are many non cancerous conditions that can cause an elevated CA 125 level and most prominent being LIVER disease . since you do have a history so the elevation is because of the liver pathology and not because of any cancer re occurrence
User :   ok, my oncologist has not told me anything, so I have actually gotten more info from you than from anyone. Just the concern over the elevated numbers is scary
Doctor :   i am glad i was able to guide you
User :   I appreciate your time and knowledge.....thank you so much!
Doctor :   but do please make sure that alcohol is a BIG NO NO
Doctor :   take care of your self and your most welcoem
User :   I will. I have not had any in at least 5 months...and haven't missed it...lol BUT I am a TEACHER....and sometimes I have to have it...ha...Thank you!!!
