User :   Hello, I have a question.
I had an HIV test and the result of the test was negative.

I took the blood test in a laboratory some hours after landing from an 8-hour plane trip. I wanted to know if because of taking the test after being in a plane this can affect the result of a blood test? or it does not have any relation at all?

Thanks for your answer.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
I am Dr.Mazumdar
Doctor :
Let me read your question
User :   ok
Doctor :
The test does not fail because of your air travel
Doctor :
It has no relation
User :   ok, so whenever you travel, after the trip you can get blood tests done without any problem?
User :   even if it is a long flight? it doesnt matter at all?
Doctor :   Except the oxygen saturation, electrolytes

Doctor :
and few more kidney related
Doctor :
and blood counts
Doctor :
Not the antibody related tests like HIV
Doctor :   Did you follow?

User :   and how long you have to wait to take those tests after being in a plane?
Doctor :   A 48 hour is sufficient
User :   what is the blood count?
User :   test?
Doctor :
Doctor :
It measures the RBC, WBC, Platelets etc
User :   and for example glucose, cholesterol, etc? those tests can be taken immediately also?
Doctor :
User :   ok
User :   just to better understand why these tests (hiv, glucose, cholesterol, etc) can be taken and not the other ones?
Doctor :
Since the body is does not move and the RBC and the other blood counts might be increased (not significant) because of high altitude
Doctor :
Glucose and Cholesterol tests are markers of body fat or the metabolism which does not affect by the air travel
Doctor :
They vary by your meal intake
User :   and the hiv?
User :   are the antibodies affected by air travel?
Doctor :   No
User :   ok
User :   thank you
User :   that was my question
User :   bye bye
Doctor :   Did you understand the advice
Doctor :
