User :   Um, hi. so earlier tonight maybe about two hours ago i had a fall. I blacked out momentarily, and when i opened my eyes i found myself on the floor with my head against the door. I don't remember falling, just a noise (probably when my head hit the door) then i woke up. I've been slightly dizzy when walking, but fine when sitting. I have a numb/tingly feeling in my forearms and hands, and just a teeny bit in my calves. Earlier, I also noticed that my hearing suddenly went dull, as if noise was muffled. It lasted a few minutes. It happened a little later on too, when i was in a room by myself, and noticed that my ears felt weird/veiled. What treatment would you suggest?
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here. Let me read what you have typed.
Doctor :   are sure about having the momentary blackout?
User :   well, i was headed to the bathroom
Doctor :   if the dizziness is still persisiting, then I would recommend you to get a check done by your doctor/or in the ER.
User :   i just walked out my door towards the bathroom, but the next thing i know i'm waking up and i've gone about 3 feet past the bathroom door
Doctor :   so you mean to say you were perfectly awake on the way to bathroom when you had a fall?
User :   can the checkup wait about 4 or 5 hours?
User :   yes
User :   there was about 7 feet traveled that i couldn't account for in my memory
User :   but i was awake before then
Doctor :   if ou do not develop other symptoms like ringing in ears, headache, nausea, vomiting, any bleeding from nose or ear, you can wait
User :   though i was really tired, since i had only gotten 1.5 hours of sleep last night
User :   is it possible i just fell asleep while walking?
Doctor :   but if the dizziness and the present symptoms are not getting better within next half hour, do not wait further
User :   okay
Doctor :   since you do not remember anything much before the fall, it is possible that you were in sleep
User :   if i do go what sorts of tests will be performed?
User :   will there be blood work or urine or just nerve testing and scans?
Doctor :   first examination will be performed to se if any injury is there and rule out any internal head injury
Doctor :   and if needed blood work can be done depending on the examination results
Doctor :   along with scan
User :   so i don't feel any bump on my head, or pain in my head or neck
User :   is that a good sign?
Doctor :   please provide your age, gender, location, height, weight, details of past medical illness and treatment if any.
Doctor :   it can be taken as a god sign of not having a bump, pain in head and neck. But getting serious problems ruled out is always better if your present symptoms are not getting better.
Doctor :   *good sign
Doctor :   please provide your age, gender, location, height, weight, details of past medical illness and treatment if any.
User :   20, female, XXX, 5'2", 127 lbs, eczema
Doctor :   ok. are you on medications at present? if yes please name them along with dosage.
User :   um, just birth control pills (loestrin 24fe)
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   then you can wait and watch if your symptoms are getting better or not getting worsened, you can wait and go to your doctor in morning
User :   okay
Doctor :   if you have symptoms worsening, or develop new symptoms, then visit ER immediately
User :   am i allowed to sleep?
Doctor :   if you are alone in house, do not sleep
Doctor :   if you have someone to observe your breathing pattern
Doctor :   then you can sleep
User :   oh okay then
Doctor :   if the person notices any change in breathing pattern, then you should get a check done immediately
User :   okay
Doctor :   by going to ER
Doctor :   have you followed what I have asid?
Doctor :   *said?
User :   are you talking about slower or faster breathing?
User :   yes, i understande
Doctor :   any change, it can be fast, or very slow.
User :   okay, i gotcha
Doctor :   any labored breathing should be watched for.
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   would it be best to keep still or seated?
User :   as opposed to walking around a bit
Doctor :   it is better not to walk around to avoid further fall
Doctor :   if you do, make sure you have someone aroung to hold you
