User :   then has come back several times since then
Doctor :   ok
User :   haven't got a sonogram because I lost the original referal

User :   It occurs in several locations horizontally left of center, center and right of center but usually at different times, vertically it is right under my belt / wastband
Doctor :   ok

User :   so basically anywhere under my belt

Doctor :   wat the type of pain
User :   not below but right behind it
User :   it's a sore burning feeling
Doctor :   is it catchy type, squeezing type , or mild pain
User :   think of the kind of pain that you might feel with a rash

User :   feels close to the surface as if the hairs are being pulled
User :   or yanked on
Doctor :   ok
User :   but I can see no red or signs of iritation on the surface
Doctor :   do yu have any difficulty in passing stools
Doctor :   or in urination
User :   no passing stools has been relatively easy, esppecially lately because I have been eating a low meat high fiber diet because of a fissure
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   good continue high fiber diet
Doctor :   do have constipation still
User :   how would you define constipation?
User :   I have been having about 1 large soft BM a day for the past week or so
User :   today was two small drier BM's though
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   its passage of hard stools, mild to moderate pain while passing for a atleast once a day
Doctor :   for 1-2 weeks
Doctor :   can have mild bleeding also
Doctor :   the stools can be smaller or big in size
User :   I can have very mild pain after passing stool but it is from the fissure I believe, but only 1 out of 10 on pain scale
User :   more of a discomfort if anything
User :   but generally not painful
User :   the fissure does bleed with large BM's
Doctor :   ok
User :   even if they are soft
Doctor :   the fissures does not bleed a lot
Doctor :   its a mild bleeding
User :   mild
User :   maybe 1 drop at most
Doctor :   they have more pain
User :   and stops immediately after BM
User :   5 months ago it was bad
Doctor :   due to the linear craks or ulcers in anal region
Doctor :   BM?
User :   but that's when I started changing my diet
User :   bowel move
Doctor :   o
Doctor :   thats good
Doctor :   diet modifications helps u a lot
Doctor :   have plenty of water
User :   yes
Doctor :   green leafy veg
Doctor :   and fruits like banana, orange , grapes
Doctor :   are good as they contain more fibre
Doctor :   avoid spicy foods
Doctor :   and carbonated drinks
User :   I haven't had soda in weeks
User :   and only one beer in weeks
Doctor :   yes its better to avoid
Doctor :   as it causes bloating of stomach
Doctor :   do yu smoke
User :   I am being very careful with diet now, but would like things to heal better so that I can ease up a little on this diet because I am loosing too much weight, I would like to be able to eat meats sparingly and spicy food again.
User :   not a smoker and have never smoked

Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   good
Doctor :   how much alcohol do yu consume per week
User :   right now 0-1 drinks

User :   but normally maybe 3-5 drinks with maybe 8-10 if it is a rare week with special occasions
Doctor :   its better yu reduce that also
Doctor :   drink should not be more than 30ml per week
User :   okay, I have been at 0 for the most part now

Doctor :   good maintain it
Doctor :   coming to abdominal pain
Doctor :   so yu have any nausea
Doctor :   or vomiting
User :   no nausea

User :   no vomiting
User :   in fact I have been very hungry
Doctor :   ok

User :   because of the restrictive diet
User :   it has made me starving all the time
Doctor :   due feel that even after a small meals
Doctor :   your stomch is full
User :   yes still very hungry after a small meal
User :   I am going underweight now
Doctor :   wats your ht and wt
User :   175.26 cm
User :   wt was 68 kg now about 63 kg
Doctor :   wt
User :   has dropped about 5 kg in just a few weeks
User :   because of such a carefull diet
User :   sorry I wanted to convert to metric for you since I am in the US
Doctor :   its ok not to worry
Doctor :   yu can gain wt with otehr nutritius foods also
Doctor :   no problem

User :   my concern is that all the fibre while it softens stool is creating very large stool
Doctor :   its better to get an ultrasound done
User :   ok
Doctor :   so we will come to a clear picture
Doctor :   identify the cause
User :   What kind of conditions can an ultrasound find in this region?
Doctor :   and treat accordingly
User :   still there?
Doctor :   yes proceed
User :   sorry not sure if you saw my last question
User :   What kind of conditions can an ultrasound find in this region?
Doctor :   yes i will guide yu
Doctor :   diverticulosis
Doctor :   diverculitis
Doctor :   irritable bowel syn
User :   are all of these common at my age?
Doctor :   yes its common in young adults
User :   If it is diverticulosis, I've read these are pockets that form comming out of the colon / large intestine
Doctor :   enen it can be stomach ulcers
User :   could stomach ulcers burn that low?
User :   or would the pain be higher?
Doctor :   the pain can be lower abdomen if its duodenal ulcer
Doctor :   or it can be upper abdomen if its gastric or stomcah ulcer
Doctor :   yes it can
Doctor :   if the ulcers are in colon
Doctor :   or even a polyp in a colon can cause it
User :   hmmm, this sounds like a possibility then

User :   pain is usually burning for that too?
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   its better yu get an ultrasoun done soon
Doctor :   based on that we can come to the exact diagnosis and treatment
User :   ok, I will try to get an appointment with a GP that can refer me this week
Doctor :   yes
User :   hopefully an ultrasound by 1-2 weeks
User :   it's an easy test
Doctor :   and get back to us with reports
User :   ok
Doctor :   yes its an easy test
Doctor :   yu will get the reports immediately
Doctor :   Is there any thing else i can help u with
User :   yes, one question about diverticulosis
Doctor :   yes proceed
User :   can those pockets be coloscopically rescinded / removed without removing the colon if I have this condition? Does that kind of technology exist? I've had relatives that have had sections of their intestines removed and hope I never have to go through that
Doctor :   no way to worry
User :   because from what I understand the pockets don't go away from conservative treatment

Doctor :   let me explain
User :   ok, please do

Doctor :   even if its diagnosed as diverticular disease
Doctor :   the main manage ment is diet and medications

Doctor :   The part of the colon involved with diverticulitis is taken out surgically
Doctor :   Then the remaining colon is sutured back together. This pro-cedure is known as รข??anastomosis
Doctor :   If attacks are severe or frequent, the doctor may advise surgery.
Doctor :   a course of antibiotics will help us
User :   Wow I think that's what some of my uncles had done and it ruins ones life
User :   they are much older then me though
Doctor :   yes its only if the condition is severe
Doctor :   and if have more frequent attacks
Doctor :   other wise surgery in not recomended
User :   if the condition is minor, is diet and medication used until it gets better or is the disease uncurable (have to follow diet and medication for life)?
Doctor :   yes its only that
Doctor :   not to worry
Doctor :   as per your symptoms its a minor one
User :   which one diet and medication is temporary or for life?

Doctor :   only diet and medication is enough
Doctor :   diet which is fibre rich
User :   If I have diverticula it will make me nervous even without symptoms because the pockets are abnormal and waste can get trapped in them
Doctor :   medication are a couse of antibiotics
Doctor :   and medications to reduce spasms
Doctor :   yes yu can be nervous even with out symptoms
User :   and if it's an ulcer?
User :   what would the treatment be for such condition?
User :   antacids?
Doctor :   yes its again the diet
Doctor :   modifications
Doctor :   antacids
Doctor :   and syrups to reduce the acidity
Doctor :   and the ulcer to heal
User :   so if it's an ulcer it can heal? not a lifelong condition?
Doctor :   yes i can heal with out any effects

Doctor :   if the treatment is taken properly
User :   I guess if I have a choice, I would prefer the ulcer over diverticolosis
User :   but only the tests will test
User :   *tell
User :   ok, I guess that's all I can ask for now
User :   thank you for your input, I hope it is not diverticolosis because of the quality of life impact
Doctor :   ulcers and diverticulois are equally the same risk
User :   ok
Doctor :   but for ulcers the healing is quick and better
Doctor :   even with diverticula not to worry
Doctor :   as per your symptoms its the early stage
Doctor :   only medications are enough
Doctor :   be strong mentally prepared
Doctor :   not to worry
Doctor :   yu will get well soon
User :   can I eat spicy food or meat if I have diverticula though?
Doctor :   no its better yu reduce the spicy foods and redmeat
Doctor :   so that yu dont have constipation
User :   I understand, I have been eating no red meat lately because of the fissure and such, and very little spice, but if I can never eat these again it will hurt my quality of life...
User :   I guess we'll see
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   Is there any thing else i can help u with
User :   that is all for today, thank you very much
Doctor :   please fill the feed badck form
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting HealthcareMagic. Bye for now. Please refer your friends to our service.
User :   thank you
