Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello,
User :   I need some information on recent diagnostic results for my mother
Doctor :   Go ahead with query.
User :   I'll give her background - she is around 58 years old, and has hypertension
Doctor :   Type clearly the lab values
Doctor :   ur mom value on left
Doctor :   and normal value on right
User :   she also has rheumatism - for which she is currently taking ayurveda medicine
Doctor :   ok
User :   oh ok - currently I don't have the report in front of me, but I coudl tell you the details that I remember
Doctor :   rheumatism -Do u have specific diagnosis?
User :   basically, it all started a fortnight back when she was coughing severely
Doctor :   That will be inadequate assessment
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   go ahead with the current problem
User :   I'll give you the exact report values later on - I don't have access to the report results right now
User :   ok
Doctor :   ok
User :   the cough was dry and after sometime she started to complain about lower abdominal pain while coughing
User :   later on the lower abdominal pain persisted for two occasions - while coughing and when she had teh feeling to go to loo
User :   we checked with teh doctor, he gave her antibiotics to deal with the cough
User :   and also asked ultrsound tests to check abdominal pain
Doctor :   ok
User :   in the ultrasound, it was discovered that she has 5-6 mm calculi on the gall bladder - they called it cholelithiasis (If I'm correct)
User :   now the status is that her cough has reduced with the medication
Doctor :   ok
User :   and teh doctor dismissed the choleliathisis as not dangerous now
Doctor :   Yes
User :   he said that it is common for ladies post menopause to get these stone formation
User :   another point worth noting is that she is obese - around 95Kgs
User :   her height woudl be around 5 ft 4 inches
Doctor :   ok
User :   so wanted to check with you - should I be concerned about the stone formation on gall bladder
Doctor :   Shall I answer
User :   should I check with any gasto specialist
User :   sure..thanks
Doctor :   Gall stones do present in females with over weight
Doctor :   If they do not cause any symptoms , they do not any treatment
Doctor :   If they cause abdominal pain, gall bladder has to be remobed
Doctor :   The cough was the initial presentation not the abdominal pain
Doctor :   So ur doctor teated cough
Doctor :   Now she has no abdominal pain?
Doctor :   Does she?
User :   she has the pain whenever she has teh sensation to go to loo
Doctor :   please explain
Doctor :   Idid not get it.
User :   I mean whenver she has teh feeling to shit, she gets pain in that part (lower abdomen)
User :   and after shitting, she is ok - no pain persists
Doctor :   that is different
Doctor :   The pain from gall stones cause pain in upper abdomen and is not at all related to emptying the stools
Doctor :   You can discuss the lab values later
Doctor :   Did I resolve your query?
User :   thanks - so you are suggesting that since there is no pain in upper abdomen the gall stones are not a worry now
Doctor :   YES
User :   but then - what coudl explain the pain she is having in the lower abdomen?
User :   shoudl we do any specific tests to analyze teh cause?
User :   and FYI - this is a recent phenomenon - she never used to complain of this pain before
Doctor :   Pain in lower abdomen can be due to: Doctor :   constipation
Doctor :   2. diverticuilitis
Doctor :   There is test -colonoiscopy
Doctor :   It will answer all your Qs.
Doctor :   It is also indicated for all after 50 yrs
Doctor :   every 10rs
Doctor :   so get the test done
User :   oh ok - so probably it would make sense to get that test done
Doctor :   looks at the cause and screen the colon cancer
User :   sure
Doctor :   Yes
User :   just curious - what woudl be teh approximate cost of one such test?
User :   and colon cancer is scary :(
Doctor :   Around 1000/-
Doctor :   I told u the test is screening
Doctor :   It detects early abnormalities and saves many lives
Doctor :   Do you follow me?
User :   yes yes, I get that.
User :   sure, then I'll get this test done
Doctor :   Ok then take care
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting
Doctor :   Bye
User :   thank you very much, doctor
User :   bye
User :   probably some other day, I'll run you through teh diagnostic values
User :   thanks again
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   You welcome
