User :   I am a 35 year old female that has MS and Fibromylagia and have been suffering from extreme flush and cold feelings for about 2 years. When the flush/hot feeling occurs my entire body begins to tingles and my tongue starts feeling numb. My stomach starts to hurt where I eventually have a bowel movement. I get real bad pressure in my chest area. I also get real bad feelings in my throat area that makes it hard for me to swallow. Once I come down from the hot feeling and then I get extremely cold and start aching really bad all over. I have gone to so many doctors and no can tell me what is going on. Many doctors want to turf it back on my MS and Fibromylagia. I have an appointment this week with a Gastro doctor. please help
User :   Hello
User :   I really need some advice
Doctor :   Can you please abbreviate MS for me ?
User :   Multiple Scerlosis
Doctor :   Ok,
Doctor :   May i know about the regularity of your menstrual cycles ?
User :   It's not regular. I also have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). I just had my period about 2 weeks ago
Doctor :   ok, the symptoms you mentioned fit into preimenopausal presentation hence i want to rule it out
Doctor :   since you have PCOD the periods will be irregular and withabnormal flow
Doctor :   hence cannot be conclusive in that ( perimanopausal ) consideration
Doctor :   but also the symptoms do give me a clue into Acid peptic disease which is very commonly associated with fibromyalgia
Doctor :   The gastroenterologist either by a Endoscopy or by examination will be able to confirm this fact
User :   The symptoms only occur at night when I am lying down. I had an endoscopy done and it came back fine, but my primary doctor wants me to get a second opinion and also have a colonscopy done. She thinks it cold be Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). I am just concern about possible tumors somewhere that are being overlooked.
User :   Last night I started out really cold then got really hot then really cold again. My throat area was hurting so bad that my tongue was throbbing
Doctor :   Well endoscopy cannot miss the tumors of upper Gastro tract
Doctor :   yes , the symptoms you mentioning are do part of Acid peptic disease
Doctor :   you may be needing a repeat endoscopy
Doctor :   colonoscopy may not b much helping , but its still a good choice to rule out IBS
User :   Another question should I follow up with my ENT again because I have the warm feeling in my throat and sometimes it feels like something is stuck there. Sometimes when this occurs I have the other symptoms as well. Other times my throat problem occurs by itself. I had my tonsils removed and though this would solve the problem but it hasn't
Doctor :   well kits not bad to have an opinion ,
Doctor :   but i do not consider throat cancer being the chance here
Doctor :   since the nerves supplying the esophagus over lap with the ones of the throat , any affection to the upper Gastro tract can have symptoms of throat
User :   Thanks I will look into both
