User :   ive lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks from not being able to eaty

Ok I sincerely feel that you have to see a Gastroenterologist for further evaluation
User :   ive been to the hospital over 4 times now in the last 3 months and they have not said anything they say everything is fine
User :   drink more liquids that all i do is drink liquids but it gets tougher and tougher

Doctor :
ok
User :   stuck a scope up my nose then down my throat and said everything looked perfect
Doctor :
Did not they refer you to Gastroenterologist?
User :   no they did not see anything wrong
Doctor :   I understand your problem purely how you suffer with your worrisome symptoms
User :   what do you mean
Doctor :   I want to rule out if there is something in your food pipe which cause similar symptoms

Doctor :
More over you are also more than your ideal weight
User :   yea well what happends when I eat i swallow and my food wont go all the way down and i cough it up then my mouth muscles get weak and i cant chew very well
Doctor :
ok
User :   so i dont know what to do so i came to the internet and thought talking to a doctor 1 on 1 will be better
User :   i started birthcontrol 3 months ago
User :   right before this started
User :   never had any other health issues ever

User :   i had laroscopy i think were they cut belly button and put camera in about 3 months ago to check for a tubal pregnancy
User :   and a d and c

Doctor :
Why was the laparoscopy done
User :   to make sure i didnt have a tubal pregnancy
Doctor :   Were you pregnant then?
User :   yes
User :   but had a miscarrige
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Since then all thiis started?
User :   well about 2 weeks after
User :   i choked on some food one night then a few days laterive been like this
Doctor :   You mean to say you are tired of chewing even small food

User :   i chew small food and it still wont go down
User :   even liquid wont go down good at all
User :   and i have no pain at all
Doctor :
So you have difficulty in swallowing not pain
User :   no pain at all
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
Do you have saliva coming out properly when you try to chew food?
User :   yes i have saliva lots of it
User :   i had alot of mucas phleym but they gave me antibiotics for that and it cleared
User :   but the swallowing and mouth problem continues
Doctor :   ok

User :   its like my mouth gets weak
Doctor :
Do you have sensation that food is stuck in the throat or upper chest?
User :   only when i eat
User :   like right now i dont feel it but when i try and and swallow somthing i do
Doctor :
The mouth is weak because of over chewing the food as you have difficulty swallowing
Doctor :
so the main problme is swallowing the food
User :   yes
Doctor :   if it is tackled then the weakness of mouth is gone as it is

User :   ok
User :   can that make me talk weird
User :   like slurring
Doctor :
Yes it can be one of the causes
Doctor :
Now coming to the difficulty in swallowing
User :   ok
Doctor :
many different causes of swallowing difficulty
Doctor :   Some fall under Dental, some under ENT and some under gastroenterology and some are functional ( no organic cause at all)
User :   nothing is enlarged and there are no bumps i was told
Doctor :
Since you have seen ENT doctor and he said it nothing from his side
Doctor :
Now we have to rule out the causes from the Gastroenterologist part
Doctor :   If there is nothing noted from his part then it is functional

User :   Im just wondering why food wont go down when he said there is no swelling or anything
User :   i just dont know why i cant get it down
Doctor :   There might be problems with the food pipe, muscles of the pipe which will push the food down
Doctor :
If they are not working well then obviously it is difficulty swallowing
User :   yes
User :   ive had to be rushed to the ER cause i thought i couldnt breath and stuff but they said it was a panic attack from worrying about it so much
Doctor :
Like oesophageal webs, Narrowings
Doctor :   Zenker's diverticulum
Doctor :   Now about the functional that is no organic cause then it could be emotional or anxiety
Doctor :
I too felt that you might be anxious about it
Doctor :
and that is making things worse
User :   well they gave me 5 pills for panic attacks
Doctor :   Ok

User :   and how would i take care of it
Doctor :
Good question
Doctor :
Anxiety attacks can be taken care of by coping methods
Doctor :
which a counsellor explains you
User :   can i take these pills they gave me i have not taken any yet
User :   lorazepam
User :   will that help me
Doctor :
It is called Psychotherapy
Doctor :   Yes

Doctor :
You should take them
Doctor :
but at the same time believe me the coping skills will help you a lot
Doctor :
and you will have a bright future ahead if you follow them initially
Doctor :
It takes one or two session with the Psychotherpy
Doctor :
but you really find good difference
User :   ok i have like burps too but not full burps like gas air coming up my throat
Doctor :
Ok since when?
User :   since it started
Doctor :
This is because of the lack of proper digeted food
User :   what does that mean
Doctor :
Since the stomach is not full for the past few days
Doctor :
the stoamch produces acid and it cause the gas to come out of the mouth
User :   the past few days its been 2 and a half months
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :
You can do these things
User :   ok
Doctor :
1) Avoid tight fitting clothes
Doctor :
2) Go on a walk for 20 minutes daily in the morning
Doctor :
3) Do not lie down after eating or drinking
Doctor :
4) Avoid all carbonated beverages including colas
Doctor :
5) Avoid mint, caffeine
Doctor :
This will set things right for you
Doctor :
Please fix up appointment with a Counsellor
User :   what does lorazepam do
User :   yea but i talk weird all the time it never rarely goes away
Doctor :   It reduce the anxiety part , induces sleep so that you wake up fresh

Doctor :
I still find your anxiety / Neurosis is the cuase of your difficulty in swallowing
Doctor :
this is a very common reason in young females
Doctor :
It sets right if you follow what all I said above
Doctor :
Take lorazepam as prescribed by the Doctor
Doctor :
2) Learn coping skills
User :   ill try it and if and if this doesnt work what should I do
Doctor :   See the therapy starts here

Doctor :
Always be positive
Doctor :
The question of not working should not arise in you
Doctor :
Get daily exercise. Exercise is a powerful stress reducer
Doctor :   Eat a healthy diet. Avoid fatty, sugary and processed foods
Doctor :   Use relaxation technique
Doctor :   Visualization techniques, meditation and yoga are few
Doctor :   Make sleep a priority
Doctor :   Don't let worries isolate you from your loved ones
Doctor :
Interact with your friends and family
Doctor :
keep the stresses away from you
Doctor :
when you feel anxious about anything ( like not able to swallow) then go for a brisk walk
Doctor :
or keep doing your hobby if you have one
Doctor :
Take medications as directed.
User :   ok i understand that I just dont see how all this will work
Doctor :   You have to believe in yourself
Doctor :
If the ENT doctor said there is nothing wrong
Doctor :
then the other causes should nbe ruled out
Doctor :
is it not?
User :   yea i guess your right
Doctor :
Now the others are gastroenterology and Counsellor
Doctor :
So if you are doing fine
Doctor :
with just counselling then you do not need Gastro
Doctor :
The problem is your anxiety then
Doctor :   Did you follow?
User :   yes
Doctor :
Just come back to me if you feel worried
Doctor :
I am always here to help you
