User :   i thoutght they would do blood test which is very accurate...i did not know that they were going to use home pregnancy test.
Doctor :   urine pregnancy is very accurate
Doctor :   HCG is found in urine
User :   wat is the probability that the test may have been wrong?
Doctor :   as early as 2 day
User :   but the pack said that u have to hold urine atleast 4 hrs before the test..
Doctor :   ok
User :   there was only 2 hrs gap in the middle of which i drank lots of water as well!!
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Urine tests or home pregnancy tests are approximately 97% accurate when performed according to the instructions. However, if not done correctly or performed too early, the results may be inaccurate
User :   could thid affect the test?
Doctor :   like all test
Doctor :   test not done properly
Doctor :   do u have breast tenderness
User : is it normal to not get periods for so long?
User :   no
Doctor :   ya sometimes
Doctor :   it happend
User :   but last week i had so much of acne.
Doctor :   women miss periods by 5-6 days or even months
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   u can repeat the urine test again
Doctor :   or get a blood test done
Doctor :   There are two types of blood pregnancy tests. A qualitative hCG assay gives a simple positive or negative result, while a quantitative assay measures the amount of hCG in the blood.
Doctor :   blood test are the first one which can say whether ur pregnant or not
Doctor :   so why dont u get a blood test done
Doctor :   if ur in doubt
Doctor :   it is more expensive than a urine test
User :   i also feel a little giddy but in my exitement of wanting to become pregnant,i may be imagining it..
Doctor :   yep likely so
Doctor :   also if ur urine pregnancy is negative
Doctor :   then its likely
Doctor :   you are not pregnant
Doctor :   the test was performed too early in your cycle
User :   ok doctor...maybe i will wait till the weekend and repeat the test if i dont get my periods.
Doctor :   the test was not performed accurately.
Doctor :   yep
Doctor :   If a pregnancy test is performed too soon after ovulation, there may not yet be enough HCG to be detected by the test
Doctor :   Also, if a urine test is not read at the time specified in the instructions, the test result may be invalid.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting Health care magic. Bye for now.
Doctor :   all the best for u guys
User :   bye and thanks a lot.
Doctor :   hope to hear good news soon
Doctor :   have a nice day
User :   u too.
