User :   he is experiencing some throat pain like difficulty while swallowing

User :   we have done some tests and even upper endoscopy and the reports came normal
User :   they are suspecting acid reflux problem
User :   so he is taking Prevacid prescription medicine
User :   but still he is having pain
User :   so was not sure how long it takes generally if it is due to acid reflux

User :   we have even checked with ENT and he doesnt seem to see any issues by looking

Doctor :   The Prevacid will gradually reduce the amount of acid secretion in his stomach
User :   ok how long it might take, or it depends case to case
Doctor :   as the acid is reducing, the reflux first stops, which may take a month or 2
User :   ok is there any restriction for diet
Doctor :   following this the esophagus which has been injured
Doctor :   by the acid reflux will start healing
Doctor :   only when the esophagus(food pipe) heals will his pain disappear

Doctor :   Avoid spicy, oily food
Doctor :   Drink plenty of water

Doctor :   He should not sleep immediately after a meal

Doctor :   there should be a considerable time gap between meals & sleep

Doctor :   followed by a glass of cold water before he sleeps
