Diagnosed with endometrial cyst in ovary. Prescribed MRI guided ultrasound therapy. Suggestions? - Online Doctor Chats
hello dr, good afternoon
Please proceed with your query
Are you there?
Sorry to hear that
i have pelvic pain and the last time i had a scan looks the cyst had supressed in size from 3.5cm to 1.2cm
of late i am experiencing the pain again
and in case of pain i was suggested to do a laparascopy to be done
I am sorry but these symptoms do happen
Especially when you take drugs like Lupride
They cause changes in the gonadal hormone levels
am not sure of what to be done, and happened to hear about MRI-guided focussed ultrasound therapy (MRgFUS)
Yes, it is a newer technique that has been developed
am not sure if can be treated with this technology,so wanted your suggestion for this
Yes, you can go ahead with this treatment
oh thats a good news for me
but are there any risks involved dr.
Here, ultrasound waves are used to destroy the unhealthy tissues
They do not cause any harm to normal tissues
I suggest, you can opt for this treatment
oh thats a good news to me...
However, it should be done by a skilled specialist
am not sure, if this the right place to ask, it should be expensive as well..
the gynaec whom i have been consulted recommended for lap, though i have not discussed this option..
I am not sure about the absolute cost but yes, it must be a bit expensive
Since it involves using MRI and ultrasoud
thanks dr. i will try to check out this treatment option
A small cyst of 1.5 cms usually does not require surgical management
but looks it has enlarged now, as i facing chronic pelvic pain
Laporoscopy and MRI guided ultrasound can wait for sometime
Try the usual medical management now
Between Lap and MRgFUS. you should choose MRgFUS
i have been living in pain killers... so thought of going in for the lap procedure
Please do not live on Pain killers
its been 6 months i have this problem
They aren't safe
The benefit of Lap surgery is, it is quite cheap compared with MRgFUS
sorry, May I know your age?
i am 32 and have a child aged:1
Please consider surgery
It is better than taking pain killers
ok dr. i will check out the options and do the procedure so i can be healed..
I wish you speedy recovery
Thank you too
Is there anything else I may help you with?
Bye for now
thanks for the clarification bye
