User :   i am diabetic for 10 years. Done root canal 10 days back. Permannent crown not yet fixed.
But there is little pain /irritation. particularly after eating. For the past 5 days i am suffering sleep disturbances too. I wake up during midnight and have hard time going back to sleep.

Doctor :   How were your blood sugar levels when you were undergoing RCT.
User :   ya i am taking medication for diabetic
Doctor :   That is good, Hope the pain is manageable.
Doctor :   Can you let me know the grade of pain if wee grade between 1 to 10 ?
User :   HBA1c is around 6.5
Doctor :   Ok.That is good control, If 6 or below 6 it is the best.
User :   Now the pain is very low only (3). It is very high ten days back (7).

User :   Jan 18th Ca(OH)2 dressing done

Doctor :   Now your major problem is lack of sleep , I suppose ?
User :   Taken medicine Sporidex, Diclomol Pan 40 mg for 3 days

User :   I don't aware. But there is no other reason for lack of sleep.
User :   I started to sleep very well. But after two hours i woke up. Unable to catch sleep for another 4 hours
Doctor :   No, I feel that the continuous treatment and consultations that you have undergone and the apart from the Pain , these treatments release lot of anti-endorphins which cause anxiety or sleeplessness or insomnia.
User :   Oh...
Doctor :   I feel a very mild sedative , even like a Cetrizine or Avil which are basically anti-histaminic but have a side effect of drowsiness might help you.
User :   you mean root canal?
Doctor :   Yes.
User :   Endodontist instructed me to take any medicine for pain. it will go automatically
Doctor :   You can discuss with the Family Physician or the Diabetologist and let him know that you want a mild sedation for 2/3 days.
User :   sorry - not to take medicine
Doctor :   I have not advised you to take a pain killer, but a very low dose sedation.

Doctor :   Have you stopped taking Diclomol ?

User :   one more problem. Even HBA1c is good, My fasting sugar and PP is little high

User :   I am taking the following medicine for diabetes: Glynase 10 mg (1-0-1), Rebose 50 (1-0-1), Gluformin XL 1000 (1-0-1) and Hepamerz (1-0-0)

User :   But whenever i test fasting and PP, the results are high only
Doctor :   do not worry too much about your blood sugar levels, as they are not that high .
User :   And i would like to know, is there any problem will occur due to this medicines taking by me continuously?
User :   Glynase 10 mg (1-0-1), Rebose 50 (1-0-1), Gluformin XL 1000 (1-0-1) and Hepamerz (1-0-0)
Doctor :   To assure you further your fasting has to come down by 18 points and PP by 20 points, which can be done by diet and exercise .

User :   not taking any direct sugar
User :   taking Oats, Cucumber in intervals
Doctor :   No, You have to take these medications, Without them you will fall ill rather than using them.

User :   I read an article saying that taking too much tablets will affect kidney
Doctor :   Please switch over to 100% diabetic diet as you are veryu young and have a lot of future ahead .

Doctor :   But these drugs that you are using are much better than the older drugs we use to prescribe 5 years back.
Doctor :   Please follow these steps that I suggest now : Doctor :   1. Take Dolo 650 mg . tab daily thrice for 3 more days

Doctor :   2. It is not a pain killer and is an anti-inflammatory.

Doctor :   3. Please take Neurobion forte tab. Multivitamins daily 1 tab.for 10 days.

Doctor :   Yes it is common, But if you see any intense pain or pus or foul smell it is a reason to panic, if not it takes some time.

Doctor :   3. Also do have a glass of warm, not hot milk without sugar every night before you sleep.
User :   ok
Doctor :   4. Please do get a exercise routine of 30 min. brisk walk eevry night after your dinner.
Doctor :   If they do not help you in three days then I would suggest a sedation or reconsultation with the dentist.
