User :   Hello i need to chat regarding a bit of a depressional issue that i am facing right now

User :   of late, I feel a lack of self worth at work. Recently, due to a management change, I was moved to another department but with more or less the same work. This was done apparently as a preemptive measure to protect people since it is believed that the new manager will cut people

Doctor :   so it because of your sudden changes in your office right?
User :   now, the job content that I will be doing is not some thing I enjoy and I do not have any other immediate choices as I have a family to support and a large home loan EMI to pay off.
User :   the sudden change has aggravated it

Doctor :   Were you on any medicines in the past?
Doctor :   Did you have any such episodes in the past?
User :   thoughts such was what would i do if i were to lose the job or if i do not get employment elsewhere keep on arising. I have not taken any medicines for this
User :   no there have not been any such episodes

User :   yes, i am - my preference is within the organisation. However, opportunities are not too many

User :   I am not sure about this, but whatever i am experiencing right now seems to more or less match with something i read up on mid life crisis - as i read the article, i could relate to most of the points mentioned. How does one get out of this

# fatigue or loss of energy, etc

Doctor :   Although it may be accompanied by a depressed mood, it is not considered a depressive disorder.

User :   doc, i seem to have many irrational fears such as losing a job, losing in itself, fear of speaking in public - as such I seem to be avoiding opportunities. I am aware of these, but when its time for any decisions, these fears hold me back

Doctor :   Talk with your friends and family and consider joining a support group.
Doctor :   Communicating and discussing your feelings is an integral part of your treatment and will help with your recovery.
Doctor :   Do you discuss this with your wife and family member's?
Doctor :   Try to maintain a positive outlook. Having a good attitude can be beneficial.
User :   actually no, i avoid such discussion - especially my feelings etc with anyone

User :   thanks doc, i am making every effort to be positive (though my earlier disposition was towards the negative side). however, there are times when you really do not know what to do and thats where help is required.
User :   after i recd this membership, i read an article on cognitive behavior therapy. would you recommend this
