User:thn a female doc checked for any lumps
User:nothing of tht sort
User:she said it cud be catilage
Doctor:May I know your age please?
Doctor:Since how many days have you been noticing the lump?
User:pain has been for few months now
User:on left side near armpits
User:starting feeling same at the other side of left breast last a month or so
Doctor:Was any other investigations done? CT scan/ mammography/ PET scan etc?
User:for breasts/
User:not yet
Doctor:Let me guide you regarding this.
Doctor:I understand your worry about having lumps in your breasts that are painful.
Doctor:It seems to have developed gradually.
User:very fewer times its on right side also, the pain
Doctor:It is relieving to know that already a doctor has examined the lumps and said that it is normal.
Doctor:Still, it is very important to get it confirmed that it is normal.
User:the cancerous lumps do not pain right?
Doctor:Cancerous pain can be painful too.
Doctor:Sorry, I mean Cancerous lumps can be painful too.
User:thts scary
Doctor:Firstly, a gynaecologist needs to re-examine you.
User:a gynae had only checked
Doctor:No need to be sacred. Sometimes, these lumps can be simple benign lumps which are seen in many ladies.
Doctor:As I said, it is relieving to know that one doctor has ruled out any abnormalities.
Doctor:To get it rechecked would lift a lot of confidence in you.
Doctor:You can check yourself whether it is fixed or moving around.
Doctor:Fixed lumps needs to be investigated further.
User:its fixed
User:u mean moving around lumps are harmless
Doctor:I would suggest a CT scan of thorax to rule out any abnormality.
Doctor:Most of the lumps which move around are known to be benign.
Doctor:That is because the malignant growths tends to grow lot of blood vessels in the surrounding tissue and becomes fixed.
Doctor:Are you following me?
User:wht cud be other reasons if things are normal
Doctor:It can be fibroadenosis, which are benign lumps found in the breasts.
User:r they painful
Doctor:Or it could be small overactive tissues in the area which responds to hormonal variations.
Doctor:Yes, sometimes fibroadenosis becomes painful too.
User:wht is the cure for them
Doctor:Fibroadenosis does not require any treatment. They disappear gradually by themselves.
Doctor:Have you followed all my suggestions?
User:so i shud undergo breasts ultrasound or thorax ct scan
Doctor:So we can believe it as a fibroadenosis. But to take it that way, we need to be sure.
Doctor:It is just to make sure that you are free from any maliganancies.
Doctor:Ultrasound of breast, followed by CT scan of thorax would be needed.
Doctor:If they turn out to be normal, then you would not have to worry.
User:and wht kind of doc shud i refer to
User:after getting these tests done
Doctor:A gynaecologist would be the right person to examine you.
User:even to show the reports?
Doctor:That is the first step. If required, they would refer you to the corresponding specialists.
Doctor:IF it is malignant, only then you will need to XXXXXXX an oncologist.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:a normal physician will not be able to judge from the reports?
Doctor:Surely, any doctor, including a general practitioner would be able to read the reports and guide you accordingly.
User:ok and where shud i get these done from
Doctor:You can get it done from any diagnostic centre where they have a facility for ultrasound scanning and CT scan.
Doctor:Before going for the investigations, just get it checked by a doctor again, and then get a prescription from her for the investigations.
Doctor:Hope I had been able to clear your doubts. Is there anything else I can help you with?
User:fibroadenosis dissapeears after menses?
Doctor:It becomes less painful usually after the menstrual periods. Not always, but mostly.
User:havent heard cancerous ones to be painful whn u press them
Doctor:Sometimes, they can be painful.
Doctor:It is not safe to judge a lump just on its appearance or character. It is always better to get it confirmed.
User:am just trying to put my scare to rest
User:since 2 gynae's checked me
Doctor:I understand your concern and worry about the lump.
User:and both said its not a lump but u still get a usg for breasts done
Doctor:It can be confirmed only after a proper investigation.
Doctor:I agree with their suggestion as it is improper for anyone to confirm without atleast an ultrasound of the breast.
Doctor:Since they have said that it is not a lump, you should be relaxed.
Doctor:You need not worry.
Doctor:They have suggested you to do it probably to make you feel better after seeing the report.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:2 min
Doctor:Hope I have been helpful to relieve your concerns.
Doctor:Is there anything else I can help you with?
User:on call
User:give me 2 min
User:but my scare now is one because u said it can be xpainful and second if they r fixed is again a problem
Doctor:Let me explain.
User:while am talking to u somethimes just get a streak of pain and goes away
Doctor:Sometimes, painful mass can be cancerous. And fixed mass also needs to be reviewed. In your case, I do not think it would be a fixed mass. Because, the doctors have already examined it.
Doctor:If it was so, they would have raised the suspicion.
Doctor:In your case, it can be thickened tubules or vasculature in the breast. So do not worry.
User:and how do they appear,
Doctor:It may just feel like thickened area within the breasts, which may be painful sometimes.
User:k, harmless? need cure?
Doctor:They usually are harmless and does not require any treatment. In case pain is more due to them, then just pain killers occasionally should be sufficient.
User:hmm the doc asked me to take combiflam, rentec and a anitibiotic
Doctor:Great. That is relieving. The doctors would have felt that there is no lump.
User:otherwise r there any precautionary measures for women to avoid cancer
Doctor:Nothing much.
Doctor:You just have to screen for breast cancers occasionally.
Doctor:And check yourselves staying in front of the mirror.
Doctor:Hope you are feeling better now.
Doctor:Is there anything else I can help you with?
Doctor:Are you there?
Doctor:Do you have any other queries?
User:i was saying precautionary measures to avoid cancer
