User :   Hi,

My girlfriend suffers from Poly cystic ovary syndrome. She takes pills after which she gets her chums. However a day after she finished her dose of medicines, we had sex. Its been 4 days since she has completed her dose of medicine and she hasnt got her chums yet. Usually, she gets he chums 2 days after the dose of medicine is over.

I am concerned. Please advice of might be happening in her body

User :   when she was 11 yrs old
User :   i am not sure abt that...but its a renowned gynac in mumbai
User :   sorry she was 13 yrs old when it was diagnosed
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :
Your description seems to be a progesterone deficiency condition
Doctor :   When were her last mentrual period?
User :   28th jan- 3rd feb
Doctor :
So when was the last dose of duphaston takem?

Doctor :
Any tests of serum LH and FSH done?
User :   u mean when PCOD was diagnosed right?
Doctor :
Yes
User :   she is not sure
User :   she was too young
Doctor :
Ok, after listening to the entire history and ruling out the possibilities I could suggest you two steps further
Doctor :
1) Get a urine pregnancy test done
Doctor :
2) See the Doctor and get a review of the medications as the present dose might not be sufficient
User :   which pregnancy kit would u recommend?
Doctor :
VELOCIT
User :   ok
User :   the kit would give instant results?
Doctor :
First morning sample
Doctor :   is the best sample
Doctor :
of the urine
Doctor :
It gives instant result
Doctor :
Read the instructions on the kit carefully
User :   i see
User :   but she told me that since she suffers from pcod the chances of her getting pregnant are close to nil
User :   the thing is we used proper protection and are 99.99% sure that there was no sperm released inside the vagina
Doctor :
PCOD sufferers do get pregnant, especially with proper follow up with a gynaecologist
Doctor :
but since you are sure that no sperm was deposited,
Doctor :   the chances of her being pregnant is very low as you say
Doctor :   THe other option left is to review the medications
Doctor :
and see if the right dose of progesterone is going
User :   ok.. We shall get the pregnancy test done...is tomo the right time to do it?
User :   in terms of time since last intercourse and possible detection of pregnancy
Doctor :
Not the right time though
Doctor :   it is too early\
User :   the last intercourse was on wednesday
User :   so what would be the right time that we should do the pregnancy test?
Doctor :   In fact it is better to go to Doctor
Doctor :
first
Doctor :   If you are doing the preg test do it after a week
User :   so u mean a week from now?
Doctor :   yes
User :   im not able to recharge
User :   how can i chat with u again
Doctor :
My opinion is reviewing the medicine
User :   any code?
Doctor :
click on the link
Doctor :
or follow the same process
Doctor :
and I shall be the same doctor
Doctor :
whom you dcaht
User :   time is running out
User :   hi
User :   are u the same person
Doctor :   Yes
User :   are u a gynac?
Doctor :   I am a General Physician

User :   the whole issue is that she cant visit the gynac
Doctor :
Why is that
Doctor :
Why cannot she visit a Gynecologist
User :   she cant visit the gynac that she has been going tp
Doctor :
My opinion is that she has to review her medications first
User :   *to
Doctor :
It may not be pregnancy
User :   but will she know that has had an intercorse?
Doctor :   No
Doctor :   unless she asks
Doctor :
You may choose a different Gynecologist
Doctor :
and you should be open to Doctors
User :   but if the pregancy test is negative
Doctor :   then the problem is her medical

User :   then the chance of pregnancy is out right
Doctor :
yes
User :   what if she gets her period sometime in the next 7 days
Doctor :
It could be progesterone def or she might need a different set of medications to set her periods regular
User :   do we need to get the pregnancy test done then?
Doctor :
Pregnancy is the second possibility after her own medical condition
User :   she will surely visit the gynac...
Doctor :   Perfectly right decision

User :   so if she gets her period within the next 7 days there is no need of the pregnancy test right
Doctor :
and do not fear
Doctor :
no doctor shall reveal personal details to any one
Doctor :
and that is unethical
Doctor :
and she will not probe into the sexual act
User :   ok
User :   one last question
Doctor :   Yes
User :   considering everything is fine and she is not pregnant...we visit the gynac and the gynac changes her medicine and stuff...would having safe intercourse hamper her medical condition?
Doctor :   You said safe, so it will not hamper

User :   ok
User :   and u dint answer my 1 previous question..."if she gets he periods within the next one week, there is no need for a pregnancy test right?"
Doctor :
yes
Doctor :
YOu do not need a preg test if there are periods within next week
Doctor :
In fact wait for next three days and then see a Gynec\
Doctor :
if you get periods all the queries are solved
User :   ok
User :   but is it ok if we visit the gynac post pregnancy test(if needed) so that we are more confident that pregnancy is ruled out
Doctor :
Still going to Gynec is a wise decision
User :   doc are u there?
Doctor :
Yes
User :   s it ok if we visit the gynac post pregnancy test(if needed) so that we are more confident that pregnancy is ruled out
Doctor :
No going to Gynec should not be delayed
Doctor :
as the anxiety and stress increases and the actual periods are delayed further
User :   but its a family gynac...scared about going to her and even scared abt trying some other gynac
Doctor :
Then you get the preg test and then see the Doctor
User :   ok
User :   thanks a ton doc
Doctor :
I still think it is her medical problem and not the pregnancy
Doctor :
Please fill the feedback form
User :   sure
User :   thanks
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me

Doctor :

Doctor :   If you wish to take a specialist opinion from a Gynecologist

User :   is there a way i can get in touch with u later if need be
Doctor :

Doctor :   Bye bye
Doctor :

User :   whats ur name
