User :   i'm 37 years old and my menstrual cycle is usually 21 days, though i've noticed recently it now varies from 21-25 days. my last period was 26/8 - 29/8. my husband and i had unprotected sex on 29/8 as well as 31/8. i havent had my period this month yet, and today's the 26th day. my breasts are a bit tender though. should i have a pregnancy test done?
Doctor :   please give me few moments to read what you have typed
Doctor :   do you have any other symptoms associated?
User :   no
Doctor :   look out for symptoms like nipple sensitivity, mood changes, increased sleep, fatigue, hunger, increased frequency of urine, mild cramps, back pain, headaches etc
Doctor :   these will suggest possibility of pregnancy
User :   ok
Doctor :   if your cycles are of 21-25 day, your ovulation would be between 6th-14th day taking day1 as first day of bleeding
Doctor :   you should consider getting a pregnancy test done
Doctor :   urine pregnancy tests can show false negative results at times, so getting a blood beta HCG test would be confirmatory
Doctor :   and accurate
Doctor :   if you are doing urine pregnancy test and it shows negative, repeat the test after 1 week-10 days time to see if it turns positive, as sometimes concentration of HCG hormone in urine is less during early pregnancy
User :   ok.
User :   thank you

User :   i have
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   not really
