User :   hello, my 6 year old daughter has asmall dark red spot on her bottom lip isthis something to be worried about?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   May I know since when have you noticed this?
Doctor :   How big is the spot?
User :   it has been there for about a month but hasn't grown or changed
User :   it is quite small just a little dot
Doctor :   Does she complain of pain, itching, burning sensation, discomfort?
User :   no she says she doesnt feel it at all
Doctor :   Do you feel that the lip is swollen?
User :   no apart from the mark there is nothing else wrong with her lip
Doctor :   Do you find similar red/erythematous spots else where in the body?
User :   no i havent
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me explain to you.
Doctor :   Since I cannot perform a physical examination, its a hard task in know what this spot could be.
Doctor :   However, based on what you describe (in the absence of associated symptoms)
Doctor :   the red spot could be just a proliferation of cappilary blood vessels under the lip, described medically as Cherrry angioma or hemangioma.
Doctor :   This is a benign condition needing no treatment.
Doctor :   These are completely harmless condition.
Doctor :   Except that there can be other spots happening else where no other complications are expected. So you need not worry.
Doctor :   However, I do suggest you to see a doctor who can physically examine the spot and confirm my opinion.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   yes thank you very much for that and for putting my mind at ease i was going to take her anyway but was just worried waiting for an appointment thankyou very much
Doctor :   It was my pleasure in helping you.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :   Bye for now.
User :   thank you and goodbye
