User :   Is this a random disease or an Inherited Desease disease from parents
User :   me and my wife doesnt have any cystic hygroma on back of neck
User :   why our baby will have?
Doctor :
it is a random disease with usually no family history
Doctor :
A cystic hygroma is a mass that commonly occurs in the head and neck area. It is a birth defect.
Doctor :   it occurs as the baby grows in the womb. It forms from pieces of material that carry fluid and white blood cells.
Doctor :   Such material is called embryonic lymphatic tissue. After birth, a cystic hygroma usually looks like a soft bulge under the skin
Doctor :   The cyst may not be recognized at birth. It typically grows as the child does, and sometimes is not noticed until the child is older.
Doctor :   Sometimes, a cystic hygroma is seen when the baby is still in the womb using a pregnancy ultrasound. This can mean that the baby has a chromosomal problem or other birth defects.
Doctor :   Treatment involves complete removal of the abnormal tissue whenever possible. However, cystic hygromas can often invade other neck structures, making this impossible.
Doctor :   other treatments include chemotherapy, injection of sclerosing material, radiation therapy and steroids
Doctor :   have you followed what i have said?
User :   If it is random what did the Genetic Testing for parents will do ?
User :   Just a Doubt?
Doctor :
if it is due to chromosomal abnormality
Doctor :
then it will tell you if it can occur again or not

it is just a safe way to find out prognosis of further preagnancies
