User :   Hi, my mother has been drinking for 30 years. She is 83. Approximately 3 months ago she had a terrible experience. She vomited alot of blood and blood clots. We took her to emerg and they gave her a blood transfusion and did tests on her. Then they sent her home to follow up with her doctor. My sister spoke to the doctor, since it is her doctor also, and she said mom's kidney is functioning poorly and her insides are a real mess. She doesn't have diabeties. Well, since that eposide she was sober and we were so proud of her. Unfortunitely the other she started drinking again, heavily. We are concerned if this is the end for her. How long can she go on like this? thank you Maggie
