Cramps during periods. Suggest medication - Online Doctor Chats
How can I help you?
Hello Dr. I need your advise on the cramps during periods.
My daughter suffers cramps every month and right now, she has the same problem
Is there any medicine for her to give?
Do you mean she has cramps with periods?
May I know her age?
sure..she is 18 years
Does the cramp subside after periods?
Does she bleed excessively?
I consulted a lady doctor and she recommended Meftal.Spas
but, when she uses them, her bleeding flow is slowing down.
Yes, that's a good medication to control dysmenorrhea
Did it help her?
yes, she is able to get relief from pain, but she observed that there is less bleeding compared to the normal flow with the intake,
Dysmenorrhea is common associated complaint with period. It is mostly normal and rarely can be due to uterine problems.
Since she is under 18 years and has no other symptoms, I do not suspect serious problems at this point.
As far as flow is concerned, there is gross variation in measuring the amount of flow.
If your daughter has to use about 3-5 pads a days, it grossly means the flow is normal.
If she feels meftal spas is reducing the flow
making her use less than 2 pads, then she can try plain meftal tablets
oh ok..I think the usage is not more than 2 pads
instead of meftal spas.
If she is using more than 2 pads with meftal spas, then I think it is normal.
She need not be worried.
Alternatively she can try plain meftal tablets instead of meftal spas
and see if that makes any difference with flow.
Have you followed?
ok doctor..thank you so much for your advise. will try the plain meftal
yes I did. It is helpful.
Do you have any other questions?
yes, I have..one more..can I?
My husband has sneezes daily..and more of them when he takes head bath.
Is there any remedy for this or do you have any suggestion as to whom to consult for this problem.
My husband's age is 47.
but I feel that is abnormal for him.
one cant have sneezes daily
It is not a medical disease, it's just that his genetic blue print is causing excessive sneezing.
and he becomes restless sometimes.
He doesn't need any treatment if he has no other complaints apart from few episodes of sneezing.
However if sneezing is followed with nasal congestion/stuffy nose,
running nose and headaches
he can visit an ENT surgeon and talk about treating it.
sure..thank you so much.
You are welcome.
Do you have any other query?
no that's it.
Wish you a happy festival time:)
Wish you the same.
Thanks for consulting me.
Bye for now.
