User :   Hello, I am coughing up blood clots...some bright red and others darker red. I have been on amoxicillin for 5 days for bronchitis. I had a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia today. No results yet, but from what the tech said ( not to worry if I didn't hear right away because if they see something they would notify both the doctor and the patient) I doubt that I have pneumonia. My question is do I need to go to the emergency room? Or is this something that can wait.It started out with blood tinged mucous, but has progressed to blood clots.I take Coumadin due to two mechanical heart valves, but my INR is currently low at 1.5 ( too low!) as I had a tooth extracted. And no the bleeding is not coming from the site of the extraction. Thank you for your opinion xxxxxx
