User :   i have a pain, not sharp, under middle of bottom of my left rib cage, i am 52 years old, no history of heart problems but have not had check in last 2 years

Doctor :   the common causes being inflammation in the ribs due to cough and bronchitis
Doctor :   constantly making the muscles and the rib to be put to over use
Doctor :   even minimal inflammation may get exaggerated when one smokes and consumes alcohol

Doctor :   the other causes could be plueritis which involves some inflammation in the lung linings called pleura
Doctor :   most often even gastritis , belching , weight gain and smoking will all contribute to gether for the same
