User:I've completed my 9 months of pregnancy
Doctor:How are you doing?
User:on 12th of March
User:and today is my due date
User:but I didn't get any petains y
User:pains yet*
Doctor:Thats ok
User:is this normal?
Doctor:Normally, we always say +/- 1 week as date of delivery doctor told that mouth is not opened yet
Doctor:Which means you would be expected to deliver within 1 week from now
Doctor:That would start once the pain starts
User:is it possible that it'll open in next 2 days?
User:I mean It opens slowly or can open at once also ?
Doctor:As I said, the cervical opening (mouth) would start dilating once the pain starts
Doctor:No, it would not open suddenly
Doctor:It would usually take 10-12 hours to fully dilate so that the baby can come out
User:ok...actually doc has asked me to come tomorrow...on 20th March...after checkup, he'll decide if we should wait for more 1-2 days or Artificial pains should be given
Doctor:she would probably like to do a full examination
User:full examination means?
User:baby's heart rate and position, my BP etc...
Doctor:That means she'll assess the baby, the size of the pelvis, check if the pelvis is big enough so that a normal delivery can happen, and the general things like your BP etc
User:I want to know if I'm given the artificial much it takes to deliver baby after giving pains
User:time ?
Doctor:Is this your first child?
Doctor:It would depend on the dose of the drug they give
Doctor:Generally should be done within 8-10 hours
Doctor:It really depends
Doctor:On its own, it would take about 12-18 hours
Doctor:Without augmentation
User:also...doc asked me if I can feel the baby's movements normally ?
User:I can feel the movements...but what is normal ?
User:these are not much in count now
User:is that normal
Doctor:We calculate the movements in a 12 hour period
Doctor:So if you start in the morning at 8 am, you need to count till 8 pm
Doctor:there should be 10 movements in 12 hours
User:ohh....I feel more than that...
Doctor:So if you started at 8 am, and by 1 pm, there were 10 movements, dont count further
Doctor:Its normal
