User :   For over a month now I have experienced bright red blood in my stool. Sometimes it is in a clump almost "clot" like formation. Other times there is just a few drops that go in the water. My TP always comes back red after wiping as well. This does not happen every day. sometimes it will skip a week or two. In the beginning I had a week long bout with diarehha and that is when it started. I know this sounds odd, but it usually happens on a Monday after a weekend of eating bad food. Not sure what you would advise.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Is it you notice it when you have constipation or the day after eating hard food
User :   Not constipated at all. I can tell you I ate pizza yesterday. Like I said, it all began with a bout of diahrehha.
Doctor :   so do you see blood during loose stool ?
User :   I have, yes
Doctor :   ok, do you feel pain while passing stool ?
User :   No
User :   No pain
User :   Today the poop was normal, and at the very end was the red clump
User :   like it was something seperate
User :   not attached to the stool at all
User :   Has not happened in about two weeks
Doctor :   ok, the bleeding in the stool could be due to two reasons either due to Hemorrhoids or due to polyps
Doctor :   the stool and blood clumps separate, this happens due to mucous
User :   I can tell you I have had the flu since Thursday
User :   Not sure if that does anything
User :   If it happens again, should I see my doctor?
Doctor :   no , flu do not cause rectal bleed
Doctor :   but i advise you to get examined for Hemorrhoids by getting a proctoscopy done
User :   ok, thank you
User :   Had a colonoscopy done 5 years ago that came back with nothing
User :   but that was long ago
Doctor :   yes, it is long ago
Doctor :   get it done it will answer better
Doctor :   and avoid hard foods
Doctor :   take more fibers in food'
User :   Thank you
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   kindly provide your feedback
User :   I have read that if it is bright red, (like in my case) that it is less cause for alarm, is this true?
Doctor :   yes, if the stool is black its then you have to be more cautious
User :   Ok, that makes me feel a little better
Doctor :   stool black ( bleed is in the starting of the intestines )
User :   My diet has been pretty poor lately, I will improve and if it happens again I will schedule an appointment with my PCP, thanks again.
Doctor :   thats fine
