User :   had a cold with body aches, blocked ears and a sore throat and now there is a lump on yhe inside of my throat underneath my jaw with phlem blockage
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   May I know your age?
User :   hello i have been up all night, I am 30
Doctor :   Since when are you having the current symptoms?
User :   I had this horrible dry hacking cough for 3-4 days, which really hurt and part of the phlegm is geetig caght in the nose, the throat, and in beween the throught and the esophasgas
Doctor :   Ok
User :   I have had the lump since yesterday, I think it may have gotten bruised from all of my coughing. But I am not coughing or sneazing anymore an no more body aches
Doctor :   Ok
User :   There is stuck phlegm and the bumps/ lumps on the right sde of the throaght
Doctor :   Do you mean on the tonsils?
User :   It feels like something is stuck in the top side of my throat but but its just inflammed.
User :   no not the tonsils, it is down on the right side of my throught I think the esophugus or the larynx whichever is on the right side.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Do you have discomfort/pain while you swallow?
User :   I have been looking up things, and they said it could be an alergy. I am taking sudafed which I normally dont use, bu before I used ibuproferan which can sometimes cause allergies. something else also says it could be acid reflux but I havent been dealing with that.
Doctor :   I need few more details before I can explain to you about them.
Doctor :   Do you have discomfort/pain while you swallow?
User :   it actually feels better o eat or drink, especially at the extemes. Either cold or hot.
User :   I have taken both mucous relief and a nasal decongestant and an anti histimine and a acid reflux just in case. I have also been taking vitamin c and zinc lozenges. For whatever reaon when I took the vit c tablets earlier it actully burned in that area, and it got frothey on it on when I gargled peroxide full strength.
Doctor :   Are you on any regular pills/
User :   It feels better when i am in the shower and after i take my lozenges, i have also been taking garlic
User :   no just vitamins
Doctor :   Do you have history of previous medical illness such as diabetes, thyroid hormone dysfunctions, anxiety issues?
User :   i could not sleep the night before because the same area hurt so bad, yesterday morning and the day befor was the worse cough, but then today I develp bumps (large in the region) the on my throat is pretty big in length wise mostly, I believe there are to veins one on both side. that is what is swollen as well as bums n the back of mouth
User :   none but anxiety and my mom died a month ago, but this just came right after the cold
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me explain to you.
User :   k
Doctor :   Foreign body sensation in the throat can occur due to the following possibilites
Doctor :   1. Due to local inflammation of the pharynx
Doctor :   2. A local trauma to the pharynx
Doctor :   3. Somatic complaints secondary to anxiety and stress.
Doctor :   Since you do not complain of difficulty in swallowing, it is unlikely to be first 2 causes.
Doctor :   However without a physical examination, laryngoscopic examination, its hard to predict the cause of the condition.
Doctor :   Hence I suggest you these measures
Doctor :   1. Avoid gargling with irritants such as hydrogen peroxide, instead simple saline water gargles can be used.
User :   ok but why did it develop after my cold in the same place as when I had disomfort in the throat, and it responds to heat and cold
User :   also it frothed with the peroxide it does that when there is an effection. It also feels better (even with the burning) after i brush my teeth.
Doctor :   There can be small inflammatory changes happening in your pharynx secondary to the infection, severe coughing or use of irritant such as hydrogen peroxide.
Doctor :   Combination of all these may have caused the symtoms.
Doctor :   But since I do not have the XXXXXXXX of physical examination as well as laryngoscope examination, I cannot confirm my findings.
Doctor :   Hence my suggestion to you are
Doctor :   Saline water gargles
Doctor :   2. Antiinflammatory medications such as ibuprofen 200mg twice a day for 2-3 days
Doctor :   3. Watch out for new symptoms such as pain or difficulty in swallowing.
Doctor :   If such symptoms occur then you will need laryngoscopy.
Doctor :   4. Proper bed rest and adequate sleep are vital.
Doctor :   5. Avoid hot and spicy food.
User :   can a regular doctor do a laryngoscopy?
Doctor :   You should be feeling better in a day or 2.
Doctor :   No, the test is best performed by an ENT surgeon.
Doctor :   Consider getting the test done, if your symptoms persists for more than 2 days or if you develop fresh symptoms such as pain /difficult while swallowing.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   yes I wil do the saline tonight
User :   now acually
User :   how to get the mucus unstuck
Doctor :   The sensation that you have is probably the result of inflammation.
Doctor :   Mucous gets softened by the action of the secretions.
User :   my nose is not producing enough phlegm from the front, its on post nasal drip, when I try to bring it up, its like its stuck.
Doctor :   The sensation that you have is probably secondary to the inflammation,
Doctor :   Use steam inhalation as well as antihistamines/antiallergy medications.
Doctor :   They will help in reducing the nasal secretions.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   no that is good thanks
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :   Bye for now.
