User :   my daughter who is 1 and half year old has just started getting running nose this morning

User :   what medicine can i give her to control the cold

User :   so that it doesn't get worse

User :   just irritable and running nose
User :   woke up 2 -3 times at night
Doctor :   Does she have any other symptoms such as difficulty in swallowing, cough?

Doctor :   Does she having symptoms of asthma in the past?
User :   she had fever and convulsion 2 times when she was 11 and 12 months old

Doctor :   Sudden onset running nose is a symptoms of either allergic rhinnitis or due to upper respiratory tract infection.
User :   ok
Doctor :   Since you say, she does not have symptoms of allergies in the past, there is more possibilities of infection, more commonly a viral infection.

Doctor :   Hence she may have to see a doctor, if symptoms gets aggravated or if she develops fever or difficulty in swallowing.

Doctor :   Now presently you can use saline nasal drops to help her.
User :   is there anything i can do now so that further aggravation?

Doctor :   Drink warm or sterilised water only preferably heated than cold.
Doctor :   Do not give her cold or refrigerated food items.
Doctor :   There are other antihistaminic syrups such as syrup benadryl which is useful for cough, but can be used for running nose also.

Doctor :   However the use of this syrup or any other syrup should follow after consulting a doctor.

Doctor :   Hence if her symptoms are persisting or if she develops any of those symptoms as mentioned earlier, I suggest you see a doctor.

User :   so basically.. i cant give her anything right now to control the cold
